i hate Brandon Bass! that ass-wipe cost us the game in the long run.
When 6-11 Jeffries gets back I think the team will be better at finishing games.
Actually got to see the 4th quarter and overtime session. Plenty of blame to go around here, not just Jamal. Too many easy layup misses down the stretch and to much Dirk. We don't have a stopper in the post and Dirk is a handful anyway. The lesson here is the Knicks need to learn how to close teams out. This was a winnable game, but when you let teams hang around, you are playing with fire. You have to lose a game or two like this to learn how to win and finish games.

removed callout LT--> NEW YORK(AP) Dirk Nowitzki scored seven of his season-high 39 points in overtime and grabbed 15 rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks snapped a five-game losing streak with a 124-114 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday.
Josh Howard added season highs of 31 points and 14 rebounds. He had a pair of baskets in the extra session for the Mavericks (3-7), who were off to their worst start in a decade. They trailed for almost all of regulation, then tied it with a furious rally and didn't allow a field goal in overtime.
Nowitzki made a pair of free throws to open overtime, giving Dallas its first lead since it was 6-4. He followed with a jumper, and after a free throw by Brandon Bass, Nowitzki buried a 3-pointer, pumping his fists in the air after giving the Mavericks a 120-112 lead.
Howard followed with his two baskets, part of Dallas' closing 19-2 run. The Knicks didn't have a field goal after Richardson's basket with 2:28 remaining in regulation that made it 112-105.
Jason Terry scored 16 of his 20 points after halftime for the Mavs, who avoided their first six-game skid since Feb. 29-March 9, 2000. Reserves James Singleton and Brandon Bass each added 12.
Zach Randolph had 27 points and 18 rebounds for the Knicks, who were 0-for-9 in overtime and lost for the first time this season when scoring 100 points.
Quentin Richardson had 17 points and Chris Duhon added 16 points and 12 assists. Jamal Crawford also had 16 points.
The Mavericks went with a small lineup in the second half, matching up with the Knicks by benching starting center Erick Dampier. Terry scored 14 points in the period in the third quarter, trimming it to 91-89 heading to the fourth.
The Mavs were down two again midway through the fourth after scoring seven straight, but David Lee had a basket before Richardson nailed a 3-pointer to push it to 110-103 with 3 1/2 minutes to go. Dallas responded again to make it 112-110 on Nowitzki's bucket with 1:27 remaining, and finally pulled even on Terry's jumper with 38 seconds left.
After a couple of misses by Richardson, the Mavs called a timeout and got the ball to Terry, who was short on a jumper from the top of the key.
The Knicks made seven of their first eight shots and had an answer for every Dallas rally for most of the game. But the Mavs scored the final seven points of regulation, fighting for loose balls and crashing the boards in desperation.
Randolph made first seven shots and New York shot 60 percent in the first quarter, leading by as much as 13 before settling for a 35-26 advantage. The Knicks, pushing the pace at every opportunity, opened a 15-point cushion just under halfway through the second on David Lee's basket.
But with Wilson Chandler on the bench with a third foul, the Knicks had no answer for Nowitzki, who broke free for 13 points in the final 6:05 of the half as Dallas cut it to 64-57 at the break.
Notes: Nowitzki's 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer was waved off after a video review showed it came too late. ... Magic Johnson sat courtside, meaning two of the top three players on the career triple-doubles list were at Madison Square Garden. Johnson (138) and Kidd (101) trail Oscar Robertson (181). ... Great game thread!!! 70 points between Dirk and Howard--Damn. That's just too much to overcome. At some point this team is going to have to start playing some defense down the stretch and gut games out like this.

SICK THREAD JPZ!!!! i like it alot...anyways this was yet again proof of how far we are once again we had a lead but couldnt hold it,Dallas went on a 7-0 run to end the 4th and extended it to 15-0 in overtime they outplayed us and took advantage of us choking with the lead....that and defense are our biggest flaws,big game from Z-Bo keeps on impressing and improving his trade value,Q-Rch had a rare good game and Chandler was effective when he was in there, but we didnt have an answer for Dirk who ****ted on any defender who came close t him he hit tough shots with the D swarming him.This was a winnable game but we lost the game ourselevs we let this one get away,and thats what was expected when we couldnt hold leads vs Miami,Thunder etc were gonna have problems vs the better teams like Dallas(tonight) and others like Magic,Raptors etc...wanna see how we bounce back on the road against a really good team in the Celtics, huge test...gotta bad feeling
