The Gold Mac
So, you have to consider that he was a sophomore. His second year in the league and was playing a Team in NJ that had been pretty good defensively. Check his PPG year after year in the play offs:
15,5
14,7
18.4
17.2
21.1
20.8
22.8
That my friend is pure gold. He has been getting better year in and year out. Not only in ppg but pretty much all stats.
Contribute? Help? Those words do not belong on his dictionary. He is selfish and cares less about the team. The only season he did play slightly better was the season he actually spread the ball and did not shoot as much(2006) as he is accustomed to.
So it took him 8 years on the league to become more of a team player? And stop even considering last season one of those years. He fought with all coaches he had. He even started a feud with his godfather Isiah Thomas ffs. Well Wilkens was not good enough for him. Brown was wronged because he was actually not being fair to Steph. Fine with that but how come even Isiah turned out to be wronging him? He had issues everywhere he played. Never put team first never will.
That is absolutely false. Somehow all the teams he leaves become better right after getting rid of him. It happened to Minny, it happened to the Suns and mark my words it will happen to us. Duhon is not as nearly as talented as him but as opposed to Marbury he makes his teammates better.
Parkers offense did improve alot, and his field goal percentages were real good. But Marbury can give you the same amount of points and more assists.
By saying he contributed in 2006 (it was the 06-07 season), you kind of killed your argument. That was 2 years ago. I was real impessed with the job marbury did, considering he didnt have the best teammates (Curry and crawford). Crawford is an inconsistent shooter, bad for the most part and he plays no defense. Curry averaged 3.5 turnovers, or somewhere right around there. He slowed down the ball movement and didnt play any defense.
Last year, Marbury didnt really play but his last couple of games early January he showed that he was still the same marbury from the year before. I remember a game against chicago where he set up lee for a wide open dunk, helping us win the game. Then he hit a 3 pointer to seal the deal. In preseason this year, marburys overall play was good, not great. But his teamplay was great. He was constantly moving the ball, lookin to set up his teammates. Had he continued playing he would have worked himself into a rhythm, and he'd be puttin up all star numbers right now with this team and this offense.
He has had problems with most of his coaches, but how could he not have problems with isiah? The reason why we were losing is because isiah ran the offense through curry and crawford. Its apparent that donnie walsh and mike d'antoni dont consider either of those players to be as good as isiah did. Marburys attitude got better in 2006. Hes had bad luck but if D'antoni gave him a fair shot I believe that they would be getting along right now and we would be winning more games.
Theres many reasons why marburys teams got better after he left, that have nothing to do with him leaving. People dont look at other factors, closed minded motherfukkas. Its like they wanna make marbury look bad.
minnesota twolves
-As good of a playmaker as marbury was, terrell brandon was even better
-Garnett was young and still improving
-wolves drafted wally sczerbiak, a good shooter who helped spread the floor his rookie season
-It took Twolves 4 years to get out of the first round after marbury left, no different from when they made the playoffs twice with marbury.
new jersey nets
-no good pf/c defensive presence
-kenyon martin was only a rookie
-richard jefferson was drafted when marbury got traded for kidd
marbury, 2nd year kmart, and rookie richard jefferson >> marbury, rookie kmart, and no richard jefferson
phoenix suns
-made playoffs, lost 4-2 to spurs who went on to win championship
-nets with kidd also lost 4-2 to spurs, in nba finals
-amare stoudamire was a rookie
-joe johnson was a couple years away from his prime
-nash is a better playmaker then marbury, but suns were also a better team because they added q-rich and jim jackson to the team. Jackson was a real good 3pt shooter (45.9%)
Now onto this SLY guy....
Thank you realicon for speaking the truth. I think steph is the man as a "baller". People love him because he's from NY and all that other shit. But as a "professional basketball player" he's garbage. F*ck the stats. He's proven year in and year out that its all about him. He aint gonna change. Not even God himself would be able to coach steph and not get into some shit with him. Everybody can back up steph all they want, its not gonna change the fact that he's not a team player who is all about himself.
Here ya go pal, i cooked you some hater tots
