Teams showing interest in Starbury.

MSGKnickz33

The Gold Mac
So, you have to consider that he was a sophomore. His second year in the league and was playing a Team in NJ that had been pretty good defensively. Check his PPG year after year in the play offs:

15,5
14,7
18.4
17.2
21.1
20.8
22.8

That my friend is pure gold. He has been getting better year in and year out. Not only in ppg but pretty much all stats.

Contribute? Help? Those words do not belong on his dictionary. He is selfish and cares less about the team. The only season he did play slightly better was the season he actually spread the ball and did not shoot as much(2006) as he is accustomed to.

So it took him 8 years on the league to become more of a team player? And stop even considering last season one of those years. He fought with all coaches he had. He even started a feud with his godfather Isiah Thomas ffs. Well Wilkens was not good enough for him. Brown was wronged because he was actually not being fair to Steph. Fine with that but how come even Isiah turned out to be wronging him? He had issues everywhere he played. Never put team first never will.

That is absolutely false. Somehow all the teams he leaves become better right after getting rid of him. It happened to Minny, it happened to the Suns and mark my words it will happen to us. Duhon is not as nearly as talented as him but as opposed to Marbury he makes his teammates better.

Parkers offense did improve alot, and his field goal percentages were real good. But Marbury can give you the same amount of points and more assists.

By saying he contributed in 2006 (it was the 06-07 season), you kind of killed your argument. That was 2 years ago. I was real impessed with the job marbury did, considering he didnt have the best teammates (Curry and crawford). Crawford is an inconsistent shooter, bad for the most part and he plays no defense. Curry averaged 3.5 turnovers, or somewhere right around there. He slowed down the ball movement and didnt play any defense.

Last year, Marbury didnt really play but his last couple of games early January he showed that he was still the same marbury from the year before. I remember a game against chicago where he set up lee for a wide open dunk, helping us win the game. Then he hit a 3 pointer to seal the deal. In preseason this year, marburys overall play was good, not great. But his teamplay was great. He was constantly moving the ball, lookin to set up his teammates. Had he continued playing he would have worked himself into a rhythm, and he'd be puttin up all star numbers right now with this team and this offense.

He has had problems with most of his coaches, but how could he not have problems with isiah? The reason why we were losing is because isiah ran the offense through curry and crawford. Its apparent that donnie walsh and mike d'antoni dont consider either of those players to be as good as isiah did. Marburys attitude got better in 2006. Hes had bad luck but if D'antoni gave him a fair shot I believe that they would be getting along right now and we would be winning more games.

Theres many reasons why marburys teams got better after he left, that have nothing to do with him leaving. People dont look at other factors, closed minded motherfukkas. Its like they wanna make marbury look bad.

minnesota twolves
-As good of a playmaker as marbury was, terrell brandon was even better
-Garnett was young and still improving
-wolves drafted wally sczerbiak, a good shooter who helped spread the floor his rookie season
-It took Twolves 4 years to get out of the first round after marbury left, no different from when they made the playoffs twice with marbury.

new jersey nets
-no good pf/c defensive presence
-kenyon martin was only a rookie
-richard jefferson was drafted when marbury got traded for kidd

marbury, 2nd year kmart, and rookie richard jefferson >> marbury, rookie kmart, and no richard jefferson

phoenix suns
-made playoffs, lost 4-2 to spurs who went on to win championship
-nets with kidd also lost 4-2 to spurs, in nba finals
-amare stoudamire was a rookie
-joe johnson was a couple years away from his prime
-nash is a better playmaker then marbury, but suns were also a better team because they added q-rich and jim jackson to the team. Jackson was a real good 3pt shooter (45.9%)

Now onto this SLY guy....

Thank you realicon for speaking the truth. I think steph is the man as a "baller". People love him because he's from NY and all that other shit. But as a "professional basketball player" he's garbage. F*ck the stats. He's proven year in and year out that its all about him. He aint gonna change. Not even God himself would be able to coach steph and not get into some shit with him. Everybody can back up steph all they want, its not gonna change the fact that he's not a team player who is all about himself.

Here ya go pal, i cooked you some hater tots

My post and MSG's dominance is flawless.
We get the crowd applaud after our post.

Only herbs congratulate themselves...

You see msg, it aint hate. Its that marbury has let his fans down. I thought he was the shit back when he got drafted by the bucks (and then sent to minny). Thought he should of been rookie of the year. But after a couple of years he decides to bounce so that he can be the man. He left a great situation in minny to go to jersey. Just looking out for himself, right? Cool. But that's when the whole selfishness started to grow. And of course you know the rest...
As a fan, you want your favorite player to do great, to win it all, to be the greatest. But unfortunately he was just looking out for himself. Didn't give a shit about us.
Was also given a second chance. Coming to NY, his home town, and still wanting many things to go his way. So how do you expect steph to change when that's all he's accustomed to?

Marbury never let his fans down.

Marbury was the factor who got Isiah kicked out of town.
Marbury is a man, standing up for himself.
Call it selfish or whatever, but its exactly the same thing I would do.

SLY, Marbury was young in MINNY, you don't put a NYC ***** in the middle of no where and expect him to adapt, seriously. That was like 10 years ago, you mad late.

**** the stats? **** your words, they're caca.

First of all, real niqqas can adapt to any environment they're put in. But I guess you wouldn't know cuz you aint a real niqqa, seeing as how a spurs fan murdered you a couple of days ago, but I digress...
Being in the mindset of a fan, you have to see that pro players are playing for us, the fans. That's why they make all these millions. As a hustla I can respect his "I want it all" mentality. But we aint talking about that on knicksonline. We're talking about basketball. You can't have that attitude here. Can you imagine if marbury would have listened more to his coaches? He would be doing what CP3 is doing right now. He would have put up more points than CP3 too. But he didn't want it that way

lol good point, but how on earth is that supposed to prove marbury is better than parker?
with or without Marbury on the team, no difference in winning, the guy just gives you nothing

More assists? Have we been watching the same Marbury? If you want to compare him with other PG you will see a huge difference between him
and the Nashes, the Kidds and the all other point guards of the league. Comparing him just only with Parker is not the smart thing to do.

Sorry Mr politically correct. See if you can also catch any gramar errors or any commas i might have skipped.

Impressed? So all it takes to impress you is a half decent season? Need i remind you that he came to the Knicks to be the savior? He was supposed to be the superstar that makes everyone around him better. All he did is turn an average team to a horrible one thanks to his inability to take charge as a leader. Crawford an inconsistent shooter? Murbyry is an inconsistent play maker. In days he has the hot hand he scores 30 but does that by going 23 for 50. He also basically becomes a one man show. That takes a lot of points from the team and makes the opponent much better. That is why i believe he makes the teams le leaves better.

Wow you remember one game he won in the last minute. That my friend deserves to be put in the record books and once we are there why don't we built a Jordanesque statue just for that. C'mon man (Keyshon style)

Then he hit a 3 pointer to seal the deal.
Wow that is gigantic. It really is.

The catch phrase there is 'he had problem with most coaches'. Why would it have beed defferent with Isiah? You also are bypassing the fact he had already messed up his relationship with D'Antoni/ Why would Mike consider him?

minnesota twolves
- Steph sent packing
-As good of a playmaker as marbury was, terrell brandon was even better (Amen to that)
-Garnett was young and still improving (He was still Garnett. He was much better with Cassell and now with Rondo that are less talented than Steph)
-wolves drafted wally sczerbiak, a good shooter who helped spread the floor his rookie season (Wasn't Steph himself supposed to be that type of shooter?)
-It took Twolves 4 years to get out of the first round after marbury left, no different from when they made the playoffs twice with marbury. (Which proves my point with him they would have never mad it past the first round)

new jersey nets
-Steph sent packing
-no good pf/c defensive presence (Agreed)
-kenyon martin was only a rookie (That means he could not be trusted to work with rookies)
-richard jefferson was drafted when marbury got traded for kidd

phoenix suns
-murbury sent packing
-made playoffs, lost 4-2 to spurs who went on to win championship
-nets with kidd also lost 4-2 to spurs, in nba finals (With Steph in they would have never passed the first round)
-amare stoudamire was a rookie(And he was shooting much less because Steph was taking most of the shoots)
-joe johnson was a couple years away from his prime (Yeah he could barely wait for Steph to leave so he could explore his talent)
-nash is a better playmaker then marbury, but suns were also a better team because they added q-rich (Steph had him too but since he is alternating himself with everyone he did the same with Q-Rich)and jim jackson to the team. Jackson was a real good 3pt shooter (45.9%)

Queers, NY is the softest and least real part of NYC.
Who can listen to 12 coaches in their NBA career? Chris Paul only had one coach his whole NBA career. So that makes your whole arguement stupid.

Maybe you sound try being smart, because you're a pussy; being hard doesn't work.

Some dudes love Marbury so much that they can find no fault with him. Yes, the guy is very talented, yes he's a great penetrator and good shooter. Has he been the best teamate and team player? NO.

The problem with Marbury is that his strength is scoring and not sharing the ball. Stockton would get murdered by Marbury one on one but I bet if JS were on every team Marbs was on they would of had a better overall record. The best point guards know how to run the team first and pick their spots for scoring second. This is why guys like Nash, Williams and Paul are so good, just to name a few.

Marbury is a scorer who can play point, but most teams would benefit from a point guard who can score.

Before I begin I would first like to say good post nyk_nyk. It shows the high level of intellect that you have while explaining your thoughts thoroughly and concise, unlike a certain retard who is a disgrace to the bronx and also to the nations of puerto rico and dominican republic, mr. metro-fag.
Metro, I'm sorry that you possess a diminutive mind, which only seems to think about "queers" and "being hard". A small mind that doesn't realize that my last post was a set-up to this one. I knew that mentioning the 'spurs fan diss' would rile up that vagina of yours. But I didn't think you would have your period over it. I also knew that your dumb-ass would try and act tough and barely mention anything knicks related.
Me talking about being a real niqqa is from experience. I was trying to teach a bitch niqqa like you because I know its hard for you to learn about life when you're lazy ass is sitting in front of the computer all day, just reading blogs, writing stupid posts and looking at some gay porn. Idiots like you waste valuable space by writing stupid commentary. No wonder you've been massacred so many times. Its a good thing for you that I haven't read many of your posts or else I would have given more examples of what a dumb f*ck you are. Now do us all a favor and go hang yourself, BITCH

Hey, if you don't understand the big words, just look em up in your hooked on phonics collection.

Oh, almost forgot to mention something knicks related...GO KNICKS!!!

I really really really wish Marbury winds up on a strong playoff contender and gets a lot of playing time. Then once and for all we'll see that he's nothing more than a poor mans Allen Iverson. He has a lot of talent and can put up great inidviudal stats, but he doesn't make his teamates or team better (not to mention that many of them hate him after a couple of years).

Everyone thinks AI is a super great player because of his individual stats.

AI goes to Detriot and Detroit gets worse.

Billups goes to Denver and Denver gets better.

That's because Billups KNOWS HOW TO PLAY, plays efficiently, plays defense, and makes his teamates better.

AI puts up numbers, but he team is worse off because he's not efficient and makes losts of bad decisions. Marbury < AI < Billups

Look i don't hate Marbury the player. I just hate what he represents for our basketball team. He is the poster boy of this mess we like to call NY Knicks. He is not the only one by any means. He probably doesn't deserve to be treated that way, fine I can understand that. No professional deserves to be treated that way. But no professional handless himself the way Marbury does.
<o></o>
The team is heading on a different direction, he is not part of the future and needs to realize that by doing what he is doing he is just hurting his chances for a last lucrative contract. And you and your fellow Starburians should learn how to live with life after Steph. It is bound to happen sooner than later. ;)
