This is all nonsense.
Chandler has some very good attributes and one of them is his versatility. Not too long ago I thought he was on his way to being an all-star caliber player or close. He has no excuse for being stupid enough to shoot nine 3 pointers when he can't hit the ocean to begin with.
And for your benefit, we finally have a great organization. That's party why we are so bad this year. All the moves they are making now are geared towards long term success instead of winning this year. I have no problem with that because I would actually like to win a championship in the 2010-2014 period instead using the tried and failed strategy of idiots like Isiah Thomas that try to improve the team now at the expense of the long term.
All that said though, there is no reason for our young players to continue doing stupid things. It is statistically obvious that Chandler is a bricklayer from the 3 point range and that guys like Thomas, Harrington, and even Qbrick, while not great, are better. Until such time that Chanlder can hit the ocean (if ever), he should simply pass the ball every time he has it out there or take it to the hoop, shoot midrange, get fouled etc.... Shooting from 3 is stupid if he's the one doing it and it's an easy problem to correct.
Do anyone really see a difference in coach Dantoni vs coach Isiah playbook plan other than coach Dantoni push passing the ball compared to Isiah letting Marbury, or Crawford, or Q.Rich, or Malik, or Zach shoot the ball anytime they want.
The playbook offensive plan is the same when it comes to whomever is playing the SG-position....they are pushed to the outside and allowed to take 10 to 15 jumpshots a game mostly from the 3-point line.
It's a playbook (SG) plan that coach Riley and coach Larry Brown been using for years and the Knicks adopted it.
So dont blame Rookie Chandler whom is now forced to play SG, which is not a position he played in H.S., College, or in the NBA until this month with Dantoni.
Well, the Knicks did stay close thru out the game untill the 4th quarter arrived when the Knicks 8-Man rotation defense were no match for Denvers 9-Man rotation defense.
However, the Knicks bench players added 38 points compared to Denvers bench players 35 points....the bench defense won the game.
It's not hard to figure out why C-Nene leads the league in FG% when all of his shots are taken in the paint (something we used to have Curry doing, or need to have some of our poor shooting players doing.). Coach Nelson and K-Mart plays a big role in reminding Nene where his offense lies.
Denver shot 14 fga from the 3-point line as a team when compared to the Knicks 35 fga from the 3-point line (only bad halfcourt offensive teams average that many 3-point shots per game).
Wilson Chandler have not been having a good game mainly b/c our knuckle-head coach has him confused in this so-call 7-second running offense (which does not exist on this team). Coach Dantoni had Chandler playing at the PF position the first 20 games of the season....but now against the last couple of teams he has Chandler playing the SG position (so the signing of Roberson and Duhon were guesses on Dantoni part). By the way.....
In all actuality.... this season is Wilson Chandler rookie season.
I can not wait to see how Dantoni coach his BUM Nephew Gallo....will he have him on the court with several bum teammates like Q.Rich, Thomas, Jefferies, and Harrington??????
