Harrington/Chandler is a lame 1-2 punch

Probably worst 1-2 option in the NBA today.

Honestly.
Both guys shoot around the 40% range...1% from under 40% honestly.

Gallinari is easily capable of producing more efficient numbers than Harrington if given the shot attempts. Harrington is easily replaced at the 3.

At the 2, we need to drop Robinson.
He's our 2 guard who's shooting 31% from the 3pt line and taking the 2nd most shots on the team. He's pretty lame, I prefer a guard with defense and 3pt range...that can play multiple positions, lets send Robinson to a team that needs a dynamic PG.

Garcia is a NYC kid with mad potential even though he's 27.
In an up tempo system, he can easily do this everynight.

Dude is a mix of Raja Bell/Boris Diaw with quickness and shot blocking. Perfect for this system, 15 ppg 5 rebs, 4 assist 1 blk per game 40% 3pt type production...great compliment for Duhon. This is a backcourt that would make it one of the best defensive backourts in the NBA.

Whats next?

We need to move Harrington for a more efficient 1st option.

Why would we want Rasheed old as hell Wallace? This makes us older and slower and does not bring us closer to a title. We need to keep our young guns and be patient for 2010 when we will know what superstar to build around.

We are getting Wallace to get rid of Curry and James. Plus his contract ends before 2010. Who cares about our 2009 pick, the draft class isn't that great anyway. By getting rid of Curry we can get someone 100x better for 11 mil a year. Hell sign David Lee for 11 mil a year, a move I would be against, but still better then Curry.

I love trading Robinson for Garcia. Garcia is underrated and he would do well in our system.

Rasheed's basketball IQ and defense would automatically turn this team into a playoff contender.

We are patient for 2010 fool.
Sheed contract expires early, no need to worry.

Why wait till 2010 to build? Thats foolish.
Build a solid playoff TEAM now, so by 2010 the Knicks will have more value.

A superstar doesn't want to sign a long term deal with a lottery team.
Thats a fact.

Guys like Lebron and etc want to win.
Not rebuild all over, they've been through that process with their previous teams.

The smartest thing to do right is build a playoff team without taking any contracts that go over 2010.

Simply, and its fact for the best of this franchise. The losing STOPS now.

...

It without a doubt is a bad 1-2 option but its not like its the team were building around its the temporary 1-2 option and i can live with that. If we saw anything from the Laker game, its that we need a star player and come 2010 we may very well have 2 star players.

You are extremly creative with your trades and i respect the thought but were not basically going to trade our entire roster in the next month for what would maybe amount to a second round playoff exit. Not to mention nowadays how many 8 player deals do you see happen? Your proposed trades make us better but by the time this team learned to play with each other which would take awhile it would have cost us a few wins an dmost likely a playoff berth.

I'm with you on the Nate Robinson for Garcia trade. But i'd also consider a John Salmons, Brad Miller for Nate and Curry/Jefferies deal. I haven't looked at the salaries so there may be some add ins necessary but the idea of getting an better shooting guard would be nice.

All that said, this team right now is certainly flawed but they are fairly entertaining and competitive enough to get us through the next two years. And once those years are past the majority of the contracts are gone and we can truely become great.

I'm with you that Gallo can deffinately be more efficent then Harrington but hes simply just not ready to log big minutes yet. And its not because of his IQ or his conditioning its because he's a foul machine who would be in foul troble every game. Come March maybe he'll be ready to have his minutes upped to 25 a night.

Why would Det. trade Wallace for our 1st, Curry & James who go past 2010 knowing they are making room for the FA class? I do agree we need to build a winner sooner than later but other teams know how desperate we are and will try to rape us in a deal. Why would the Kings trade Garcia for N8 when they can sign him at the end of the year w/o giving up a player? And a trade w/ the Bulls is all but impossible.

Walsh and D'Antoni have tried to condition us that losing is o.k. to take the pressure off themselves. They know we can't compete w/who we have. They also know we will start blaming them after a while. So they came up w this 2 yr plan to buy them time. Basically they made it ok to lose with hopes we will be better in 2yrs. I feel Walshs isn't concerned w/ us being competitive right now so he will NOT do anything else drastic unless it's a no brainer. Whoever takes Curry or Jeffries will def. want either our #1, Chandler or Lee and I bet the player being offered will not be a big improvement. If said player were being offered Walsh would've been did it. He and D'Antoni think they're playing with house money. So he's being super patient thinking we haven't won in years what's 2 more?

I like how Gallo is being used currently. I think Gallo's numbers look really good now but would thin out if he were to get more PT this season. I think down the road he is going to be a more efficient, under controlled version of Al Harrington, but, for now we just slowly work him in and I think before long he will show his promise. But to rush it could be a set back.

Wilson I'm not worried about, I mean this is technically his rookie season, and he has looked good considering. I think his shooting numbers will improve, look if Ariza's shot can improve I think for sure Wilson's can.

Now I do like bringing in Garcia, I agree that losing Nate's energy for a more consistent player like Garcia is a fair deal. I agree Fransico would do well in Dantoni's system.

The Bulls trade I'd have to pass on and I think the Bulls would too. They want to resign Gordon, plus I dont think there is enough in that trade for them. Q and his uninsured back is staying in NY come hell or high water. And Jefferies and his 18 million is staying. Al Harrington is a bit of a selfesh player it's just hidden in Dantoni' system.

Detroit isnt trading for Curry period, exclamation point. They themselves have their eyes on 2010 and they are not blowing it for Curry. Curry is a Knick until atleast next season and longer if he doesnt come back into camp into shape.

Plus I said it before a wholesale trade like these proposed moves us back to Pre Season with all those new players trying to learn each other and their coach. Think about it... were just getting our act together from the Nov. 21 trade that only swapped two players! I think bringing in that many new players would set us back before moving us forward.

How can we really estimate how long my new team will gain "chemistry"? I mean, Garcia, Wallace are some really good chemistry guys, along with Gallinari who already gets respect on the court and gets the offense going.

Chemistry will not change honestly.
Look at how our team now developed chemistry.

With a core of Duhon/Lee still here and D'Antoni and his system, not much will change expect a little more defense, experience and better shooters.

This is why I feel moves like this will push us to a more positive direction. :peace:

I know we're not going to trade the entire ROSTER, but we NEED too.

Salmons has a lot of value for SAC (their all around guy), its kinda like Orlando trading Hedo. Garcia is more expendable especially when they get a PG in return.

There is no substance really to declaring Gallinari a foul machine.
All bench players who play limited minutes will be more anxious on the court and commit fouls more than usualy.
Gallinari is a smart guy on defense, he isn't going to be like a Peter John Ramos or some hack off the bench.
Once he gets more comfortable (which shouldn't be too soon), a foul machine would be the last thing Gallinari would be.

It's a good thing that Gallinari is a "foul machine" now, it shows how much effort he puts into defense, probably more effort we've seen from the Knicks in in the last 4 years combined. Gallinari's fouls are positive...they showcase effort, intensity and denial for the opponent to score...where as a guy like Curry fouls out of defeat on defense, offensive fouls...etc.

First, I never said we had to lose until 2010. In case you did not notice we are in playoff contention right now with the squad we have. I know it's easier to put words in my mouth and argue with yourself but you aint fooling anyone.

Doesn't matter what you said.
You presented your argument in favor of LOSING, because my argument was to try to win as much as possible while being under the cap and you denied it. If you're not in favor of winning now then what are you in favor of? Don't fool yourself.
Playoff contention isn't PLAYOFFS, thats not good enough security.

You sound mad, I could honestly breakdown my life and make you feel inferior as you feel on here. Good job on describing yourself and trying to project your insecurities in me. Small dick, middle aged, ferrari? Damn dude, did you really have to expose yourself like that? I'm loving my life and myself, I wish I could say the same about you.

Son, you don't know a damn thing about "developing youth" or professional athletes. You just play your 2k9 and expect dudes with "potential" to grow.

This isn't the NBDL, its the NBA. You play to compete and win, nothing else.
Everyone on this team is expandable except Lee and Gallinari.

Trading a mid 1st round pick in a weak draft? Oh no...thats so ISIAH like...I mean, theres going to be another Lamarcus Aldridge or Andrew Bynum in 2009 with our pick. Right, fool?

I got the most credibility on this site, while I just remember you as some fool I burnt a long time ago. I don't honestly remember any of your post, I'm glad you remember mine.

As for Duhon, he's a serviceable PG, Marbury is still more skilled/talented/experienced. Duhon is definitely not the PG of the future for this franchise, don't be so silly now. His defense gets overrated, even though its better than most, and there a dozen of PG's out there that can average the assist numbers he averages. I wish we had a more efficient PENETRATOR, that would open up this offense.

What's with all the NYC natives you want to bring in?

Haven't we learned from the likes of Marbury?

Marbury is great.
I'm talking about the fans.
We need more hardcore NYers in the stands...instead of fans with the masculinity and toughness of TRILLION.

I don't like how Gallo is being used.
With the way he's playing, he's obviously at 90-100%
F*ck slow...Gallinari is a professional, he's been pro since he was a teen. I guarantee once he starts getting over 25 minutes consistently, he will wow you guys...he's capable of basically everything offensively.

Pistons, eh.

How much can we get better than? Honestly.
Harrington/Chandler are our first options.
Why must we set ourselves up for losing by having such a low quality 1-2 punch?
How do you know we will be sent back in preseason with a trade?
Especially a trade that improves the quality and diversity of the team...we will add more dimensions we never had before.

You act like when NBA teams make trades, they never dramatically improve or improve slightly.
Its a 50/50 with a lot of factors depending on it.

The factors in these deals are to our favor...I honestly don't see how we will be set back.
I know these deals will never happened because Walsh is too conservative, but adding two team players to this starting 5 in Wallace and Garcia will only optimize our performance on the court...instead of being led by a selfish low IQ Harrington and another low IQ player in Chandler.

Just an honest outlook on it.
