Head had averaged 4.8 points in 22 games this season, most of which he has missed with a right foot injury. He will be eligible for the postseason if picked up by another team, thanks to his release coming prior to March 1.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the Rockets tried to trade Head prior to the trade deadline earlier this month, but the injury tempered the interest in him.
“Luther has been a great player and representative for the Rockets’ organization,” Houston general manager Daryl Morey told the Chronicle. “When it became clear he wasn’t going to see minutes in our rotation, he maintained his professional demeanor and continued to work hard every day.”
A first-round pick out of Illinois in 2005, Head has averaged 8.8 points in his three NBA seasons.

Maybe he can add some depth to our roster.
Why bother. He wouldn't play. We have too many players fighting for time as is. I'd rather get some d league stud for cheap who MAY eventually be decent and let him practice with the team. A 7 footer practicing with our squad may help us not get blocked so much when it comes to real games.
I remember there was someone on the forum who claimed Head was a "good" PG.
LOL, Roco, where you at fool? The same guy who claimed Steve Francis > Nash
Nope. Our rotation is too crowded as it is.
