Media Top 5 Favorite Movies Of All Time

With the end of Basketball Season coming soon, (Well at least for the Knicks) I figured we would get the long off-season started off right by doing a thread I'm sure of us have alot to talk about.. Our All Time Favorite Movies... I narrowed it down to 5, But you have more than 5 Please Share! Here's mine!

    1. Artie Lange's Beer League - (If you havent seen it,
Deffinately Check It out, Hilarious! Especially if you like howard stern)

    2. Goodfellas (I'm Italian, Obvious Reason's)

    3. Casino ( I would have to say this is my all time favorite I can watch this movie Over and Over again and it never gets old)

    4. Pulp Fiction (Great Actors, Greater Story This movie along with Resovior dogs are instant classics Quentin Tarantino you da man!)

    5. The Warriors (Ever Since I was a kid this movie enchanted me, I dont know why. The Subways with the grafiti, The Wardrobe, this movie was sheer briliance. Every Detail just made an impression on me.. Seeing New York City in the 70's is amazing as well, especially when you look at how different times are today... In my opinion one of the most underrated movies of all time.

I have many many many many many more, But for right now, these are my top 5... ok guys your turn! Lets see them! This should be interesting!

    1. Goodfellas

Every scene in this film is a work of art, absolutely amazing from beginning to end.

    2. Kill Bill

Kill Bill, taken as a whole, is a great ode to the samurai/kung fu films of old. Good music, but even a better story of a woman's bitter revenge.

    3. Death Proof

Great soundtrack on this brutally violent, but smart movie with great natural feeling dialog between intriguing characters.

    4. Clerks

Perhaps one of the best scripted movies ever written, this movie where essentially nothing happens and relies merely on dialog is funny, witty and poignant.

    5. Beavis and Butthead Do America

Before any cartoon really crossed the line, Beavis and Butthead were the nightmare of parents across the nation. This movie, with the 2 morons traveling across America in a quest to get laid is nearly too funny for words. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do yourself a favor and go rent it now. Maybe it isn't as dirty as South Park, but it's just as funny.

I change my favorite movies around, all the time. There are just too many good ones, out there, to choose only five favorites.

    1. Appaloosa: I'm a big Western fan, and this is currently my favorite: very engrossing, really good bad guys that make you want them to die. And a real slut that you wish would get sold to some Navajo Indians for a horse or something.

    2. Into the Wild: Great story about a guy who just gave up on the world and decided to go "into the wild."

    3. If you hate people, you'll love this film about a woman who can't bear to be bothered with helping a homeless man that got stuck in her windshield, after a hit and run.

    4. Traitor: An action film. Way better than the Bourne films, very deep, starring a Black actor, other than Will Smith or Denzel (Don Cheadle), a nice change:

    5. Donnie Darko: Crazy film, about a teenager, sacrifice, time travel, parallel universes. You must watch the version with the time travel narration thingy, though. If you watch it without it, it's not nearly as good.

Honorable mention: Star Trek Wrath of Khan: Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!; Let the Right One in; the Man from Earth; A clockwork orange; Leon; Once upon a time in the west; Unforgiven; The Crow, etc., etc.

Glad I found this thread! The thing about movie lists is that they're hard to do! I'll give you these 5 movies today, but if you ask me again tomorrow it might be a different 5. Anyway, these are the 5 that come to mind today. Each has taken some root in my brain after watching them, so even if they are not truly my All-Time Top 5, they are still worthy of inclusion here because I can't think of any others, and that's worth noting too.

    Here we go:

Mr. Brooks is the best thriller I've ever seen, he'll slash them, gash them, plus you have Dane Cook who is a lunatic.

Dumb and Dumber is my favorite comedy of all-time, hands down man down. It's one of the very few movies I can watch over and over, and over again.

The one that started it all, and they'll never repeat it. What a concept, what execution, what a ****ing movie.

Here is a Yugoslavian movie I remember from when I was growing up there. I saw it again later when I was older and better able to appreciate the situation in my home country, so I have to include it here, really a special film. I am not sure if there is an English translation or not, but maybe it does not matter. It captures the Yugoslavian character in a special way and I think much of this would be lost on translations anyway.

A little bit weird movie, but not very weird. Bill Murray is the man in anything he touches and in this one he had the dry humor going all the way. Classic. Take a few tokes from the old bong or roll a blunt up and enjoy this unique comedy.

In no specific order: (This was difficult, of course!)

    Cinema Paradiso

    The Pursuit of Happyiness

Cast Away (Favorite quote: Tomorow the sun will rise. You don't know what the tides will bring.)

    Groundhog Day

The Green Mile (Book was much better)
