Sheffield released by Tigers one homer shy of 500

Should The Yankees or The Mets go after him? Who ever wants him only have to pay the minimum of 400k and The Tigers pay the rest of his 14M+ salary. Is he worth a shot in Pinstripes now when A-Rod is out? Would you want Sheff on your team?

I'd take him on the Mets. Even if only as a bench guy. Sure would help in the outfield...

It makes you think of how much of a Marbury he is when The Tigers dump him and eat 14M bucks.

The wait is over. Number 500 today as Sheff pinch hit and tied the game with his 500th career HR.
