Default Knicks looking to sign Spanish PG

In a search for affordable solutions to improve the team (and find players who fit the D'Antoni system), the Knicks will look everywhere -- including Europe -- to fill some of those four or five roster spots that will be up for grabs in training camp.
With that in mind, meet Carlos Cabezas, a 28-year-old Spaniard who will be a free agent this summer and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]that he's getting interest from Real Madrid and your beloved Knicks.
Loosely translated, a report published on Cabezas' site regarding his free agency said that he is "studying an offer to test with the Knicks this summer" and that he is considering the NBA.
"Reportedly, Knicks officials have contacted the players agent," the story adds.
Cabezas has played for Spain's national team, including the 2006 World Championship squad, but was not on the Olympic team last summer in Beijing, which included the 17-year-old Ricky Rubio at the point. He has played [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]of the EBA.
More on him as I come across a credible scouting report and further info.

If it was Rubio, I would have said so. I don't think too many people know who Cabezaz is (I sure as hell don't), so I put Spanish PG. Besides, how would we sign Rubio without drafting him first? lol

A one, or two, year deal, after a successful work out or summer league, would be acceptable. I'm not for, however, signing the guy based on his performances in the ACB.

Does this mean that we are going with a big man from the draft?

That guy is not 6'1, common on now! He looks short in that league, he is probably 5'10 or so. As for picking up Mr. Carlos "Heads" Cabezas, no thanks. He reminds me of Barea from the Mavericks who is listed at 6 feet when he is really 5'9. Again, muchas pero muchas gracias pero no!

Not necessarily. I don't think this guy will be our PG of the future. We're weak at PG, especially if we don't resign Nate, so this guy is just insurance.
