Alan Hahn's scouting report
Toney Douglas:
Has impressed people the most in the practices because he is showing an extra gear and a terrific ability to dart laterally both with the dribble and defensively as well. Not a great shooter, but he can get to the rim. His court vision is good. Definitely ready for a rotation spot.
Jordan Hill:
Has been very active but is still somewhat raw. Plenty of time to work on offensive moves and to develop more explosiveness, which he should have. He does get after the ball, though. You can't teach that.
Morris Almond:
Hasn't stood out much in practice. Aside from the obvious -- dude can shoot -- he doesn't stay active enough to be a consistent threat. Not enough energy and intensity flowing out of him. You can see why he couldn't keep a seat on Jerry Sloan's bench.
Alex Acker:
Long and very athletic and, opposite of Almond, very active. Not a great shooter or offensiv threat, however. If he were more like 6-7 or 6-8, he might be more of a given as an NBA small forward. At 6-5, he's a bit undersized for the frontcourt, but perfect to defend shooting guards (like OJ Mayo).
Blake Ahearn:
D-League standout, is very flashy and makes you notice. He is very confident with the ball, makes flashy passes -- one-handed variety, around his back, under the arm of a defender, etc. -- and can shoot it. Struggles defensively and doesn't always make the safe pass (a little too careless), but the real issue for him at the NBA level is his first step. Not much blow-by speed there to beat people off the dribble.

Looking forward to forward to the first summer league game. Been a while since I've seen the Knicks play. My prediction: Toney Douglas will score at least 25 points. Jordan Hill probably won't won't look great in the first game, he's been struggling in practice. By the end of the week he should be good though.
Douglas is playing nice his shot is money and his defense is dirty
Hill is looking alright playing solid D but he isnt getting much touches

Hill has a real nose for the ball and he is a gritty player. His offense isn't looking too great, but other then that he is looking good.
Douglas is running the game pretty well and his D is nasty.
Almond is looking good.
Tskitsvili is impressing me. Good hands, blocking shots, hitting a 3. Deff the kinda center for a Dantoni type system, except we already have Darko.
And DAMN!
Eddy Curry is still fat as ****. My hopes were dashed now...

Toney Douglas is definitely showing some more than Jordan Hill. Jordan Hill, at 8th pick he should be slaming that ball right in that court. He is considered one of the best big man in the draft. I do not see that in this first game.
Tsikishvili has impressed me a lot. The things he showed today is what we need at center. Block shots, make nice passes, and hit threes. WOW.
Also, Maurice Almond is showing that he can be a good player. Those 1 0r 2 spots that knicks have for players to sign I would definiely sing Tsikishvili.
p.s. If i was Donnie Walsh I would just start talking about Buying Curry out because he is worth nothing. Absolutely nothing.
11 assists and zero turnovers for Toney. He looked comfortable running the team too. It's early and only summer league but I became more optimistic that he can play PG.
