Thumbs down The Official Who Gives A **** About Arroyo Post.

Not hating on Arroyo, he's good. He balls madly in international because he's PR's best player and gets more of the action.

But, considering his flaws & his age, I can't see a decent reason to get another mediocre PG when there are so many young point men in the league atm.

It's not like we can't still make a run at Lawson.

He is better than Duhon, but honestly, how much better? Not a great deal.

Is he back on the market? Pointless to talk about him if he still has a FIBA contract and he is happy playing Euro ball. Not a bad player but he's always been a career backup like Duhon, getting a backup to replace a backup seems like standing still when you want to upgrade the PG position.

    Arroyo is 30?!! PASS

Like dude above me said, replacing a back up with a back up isn't really an upgrade. Plus dude is pretty immature real Marbury-like. We need a leader PG that's a facilitator to this offense.

Then again, who knows....Ward & Childs worked for us - to an extent....

But for now, Arroyo has had 0 impact in the NBA. He's better off playing for Israel (I think that's where he plays now, correct?)

I dont think it will happen just because donnie and dantoni aren't intelligent enough to make a good, low budget move like this. We wouldnt have to spend much to get Arroyo and he is undeniably better then duhomo. And i dont see how duhomo is any better on defense then Arroyo, he got burned by several point guards all last year.

    Co-sign 100%.
This is the best system for a PG of Arroyo skills.
Anyone who believes Arroyo isn't a good fit because he's 30, which is actually a prime age is a FOOL.

Duhon is a back up...Arroyo can give you 28-32 efficient minutes.
Arroyo is ****y...but he isn't going to break up a locker room and was one of the best locker room guys in the NBA. Guys like Billups and Grant Hill loved Arroyo.
    Whatever...

MSG, good reply...Knicks dont take advantage of overseas free agents and we have to settle for scrubs....

    Arroyo/Duhon
    Hughes/Douglas

is pretty much an upgrade...we need a PG, back up or starter.
    Nash/Kidd/Sessions arent coming to NY
    Miller to NY isn't official.

    Whats left out there?
    Lets be realistic guys.

reports are that Arroyo will sign with an NBA team in the next week

but rumors are not associated to the Knicks

if not NYK, it would be nice to see him get a shot with teams needing an experienced PG like Portland, Sactown... maybe backup Stuckey or Aaron Brooks

    Lakers could use Arroyo.

Since the Lakers are looking for a point guard and have seemingly given up on Jordan Farmer we should consider bringing him in... He's a good up tempo point guard that has one year left on his deal and is realitively cheap. It'd be like the Darko aquistion. It'd be all reward because if it doesn't work out he's gone. The Lakers want Nate so how about something like Nate for Farmar and a draft pick... Just an idea.

As far as Arroyo goes i'll pass.

I thought Farmar was going to be solid in the NBA..he was made hyped as a high school prospect...and in UCLA too.

I'm looking at the dudes play on the court not his physical appearance... But whatever floats your boat my man..

Not that getting Farmar is likely but he's far my talented then Arroyo, but i really don't feel we need another point guard right now since TD seems to be a serviceable backup point. I'd rather add a legit SG. I like Wilson Chandler but he's simply not a prototypical two guard and i'm not sold on Morris Almond.

Arroyo is better than Farmar in everything.
He has the stats, the resume, and the talent/skils and experience to easily prove that.

    We need a point guard.
    Duhon is a back up
    TD is a back up.

Arroyo has experience being a starter at Utah/Orlando...honestly Arroyo can do what Nash did for Phoneix, without the 3pt shooting.

Arroyo dribbles a lot, but so did Nash.

guys like Nash and Arroyo know how to keep their dribble because they have EXCELLENT ball handling skills.

Duhon's ball handling is really poor and stops this offense from doing what it should do.

Guys like Arroyo, Alston, Nash, Calderon, all these great ball handlers FIT because getting assist in this system isn't that hard. Didn't Nate get 14 in a season? Duhon's assist numbers overrate him as a passer/PG.

I'm telling you right, Arroyo would be a steal and especially at a cheap price.

If we dont keep Nate, we must obtain Carlos. MUST. Especially since we failed on Rubio/Nash.

    Arroyo (13 pgg, 8.8 assist)
    Chandler(16 ppg 6 rebs)
    Gallinari(18 pgg 3 assist 4 rebs)
    Lee(17 ppg 12 rebs)
    Hill(9.5 ppg 7 rebs)

    Bench
    Harrington(19 ppg, 5 rebs)
    Darko(5 ppg/5 rpg/1.5 blk
    Duhon(7 ppg/4.5 assist/39% 3pt)
    Douglas(11 ppg, 3 rebs, 3.8 assist)

    9 man rotation = good
    Everyone plays a role.

Arroyo - handling the rock, pick/roll, dishing, scoring, breaking the defense
Chandler - slasher, best athlete, inside/outside game, size advantage
    Gallinari - efficient shooter/scorer/passer...point forward
Lee - He can SHOOT, shoot a high percentage, top 3 rebounder in the NBA, good passer, great hustle and can play at a high tempo
Hill - good rebounder, shot blocking help for Lee. Can also shoot which will spread our offense out and allow us to run and gun.

Harrington - 6th man...best scorer on the team
Duhon - back up PG/defensive specialist
Douglas - back up combo guard
    Darko - true center/shot blocker

    Outcast:
    Hughes
    Curry(hopefully traded)
    Jefferies (hopefully traded)
    Sene
    Wilcox
    Hunter(cut)
    Crawford(cut)

I see Sene, Wilcox and Hughes filling in the rotation incase of injury.
