Player Notes:
F Jared Jeffries saw his playing time take a major cut with just 3:27 against the Warriors. He did not play at all in the second half.
C Darko Milicic ended a run of consecutive games with a DNP-CD (Coach's Decision) when he checked into the game in the third quarter. Milicic was scoreless in 4:44.
G Chris Duhon came dangerously close to a second straight game without a field goal?and his fourth of the season?until he hit his final shot, a three-pointer, with 4:10 left in the game to finish 1-for-7.
"The next three days are going to be important to find a group that I want to go with," he said of the four-day break between games.
D'Antoni does have one option to add between now and Wednesday's game in Indiana: center Eddy Curry. Now noticeably slimmer and in shape, Curry will be worked into the rotation during this break in the schedule although it remains to be seen if he can be a factor.
Four years ago, Curry averaged a career-high 19.5 points per game and seven rebounds per game, but he did so in a much slower system that featured him as the go-to scorer. D'Antoni's challenge is to see if Curry, who has lost as much as 60 pounds since last season, can be an effective pick-and-roll player and, of course, run the floor.
Medical Report:
G Nate Robinson returned after a five-game absence with a sprained right ankle.
C Eddy Curry (calf) went through two practices this week and is expected to make his season debut in the next game, Wednesday at Indiana.
