So, again, it's on everyone's mind. Lebron to NY. 9 months left and 2 contracts to go.

The anticipation is killing me. Danny Ferry's probably going to have an aneurism (spelling) within the next half a year. I almost feel sorry for him.

I still put my money on The King not coming to eat the apple.

lebron is coming, its almost too much for him not. it has gotten to the point where any on who matters will frown upon him forever, for not coming to ny ifffff it results in him not winning a title with the cavs or some other team. it almost puts like the worst pressure ever for him to win a title outside of ny if he does not come to ny.

    Default LeBron in New York

LeBron might come to New York, but it will be difficult for him to leave Cleveland.

LeBron's salary as a player is a small fraction of his income, whether he is in Cleveland or New York. If he were to decide to come to New York, he might take less than the max so that we could also sign Lee. And Lee might take less than what another team would pay in order to stay in New York and play with Lebron.

Chicago might have better players, but Chicago is still Michael Jordan's town. The Clippers? No way and LA is Kobe's town.
Miami? It is not New York. Brooklyn is not ready.

Cleveland is the competition. He is from Akron and has real roots in the Cleveland area. It appears he has a "loyalty" streak, and the whole city will be devastated if he leaves. New York is a much better stage for LeBron, but he will take a media "character" hit if he "abandons" Cleveland for the bright lights of the big City. "Image" is important to LeBron.

I would say it is 60/40 that he opts for Cleveland.

    Thing is, Artest is right.

    Shaq
    Varejao
    Parker
    West
    Williams

That team will win around 35 games. They are nothing without Lebron. And Mo Williams is not his Scottie Pippen. Not even close.

But if Lebron does come here. he won't win a ring unless we have at least an average point guard. We ain't winning **** with Duhon.

I'm not going to get too pumped on LeBron...if we get him, it will be an amazing feeling, if we don't, at least I wasn't all pumped up about it.

I just have a feeling he stays, most players stay with the same team.

I dont see Lebron coming to the Knicks. He has to many things goin for him in cleveland. his team is the best in the nba, his hometown is less then 30 minutes away, and yeah , he would take a huge character hit if he were to come here. I think everyone here needs to realize that ny needs lebron more then lebron needs ny. the guy is a superstar and he is gonna be able to make as much money as he wants no matter where he goes. I personally think he stays in cleveland. another thing is that we are spoiled in this city, we expect the quick fix with everything. its gonna take more then one guy to fix this team. sure lebron will make a difference, but basketball is more then just a one man show. I personally think Lebron is just sucking as much media attention and money out of ny before he announces that he is goin to resign with cleveland. the guy is smart, why would he announce that he is gonna resign with cleveland right away ? ... that would be dumb on his part. he is getting alot of attention and $$$ keeping his decision a secret. If he goes anywhere , i see him goin to Miami and joining wade ... but i dont see that happening , in the long run i think the knicks really dont have a chance in signing the big guy. Might as well become a cavs fan if you really want to root for James.

    huge character hit how ?

you think garnett even remembers minnesota.
or that shaqs character was killed by going to the lakers.
I wonder if Pat riley really regrets leaving new york the way he did and fleeing to the heat.
Hmm nash leaving the mavs to go to the suns for more money, really ruined his career.
Grant hill bouncing from detroit for the magic made him the poster boy for bad character.
ALonzo mourning was chastised for leaving charlotte to go to miami..no.
Elton brand was the "clippers" bounced with no questions asked.

    point is

the track record of stars or big name players who were the symbol of their teams for years have never let character or public image get in the way of their decisions.

these guys have egos the size of antarctica; and paying homage to their home town does not outweigh money and a chance to have their name in the paper more often than not.

plus he's already played the hometown hero pretty well since he joined the league. it's time to move into a bigger stage and win some titles.

the ONLY thing that keeps him in Cleveland is a title. And it's a real possibility. I think that the Cavs stack up against the lakers really well and now with shaq i feel they can get past boston/orlando in the east. If he wins a title and feels they can keep the nucleolus of the team together why would he leave?

Lebron has been 100% loyal to Cleveland and his hometown. He has Been there his entire life. As we all know there comes a time to leave and move on. Its not a matter of not being loyal just a matter of simply growing up and getting to the next stage of life. I mean eventually his career ends is he stuck in Cleveland forever ?

With that said, Lebron wants to go down as the best bball player ever. After what Jordan did in Chicago there is only one way to do that . Taking our defunct Knicks and making us a contender...

Yes more Taxes in NY but Lebron is a rich man . NY will only escalate his already millions in edorsements.......

His Mom is his Heart.....she will send him to NY

what a team 'bron and.... ah.... let me see...oh yea
toney douglas (tony has no 'e')
    'over the' hill
    zepole canoli
    'mr' wilson..

so there is our startin '5' (more like our starting 2 1/2)

and off the bench... fat-fuk curry, when he not at mickey D's, and last... and certainly least... '3point' jared

as larry davis (curb your Enthusiasm) would say that roster is pretty...pretty...pretty good...

I really don't see LeBron coming here. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him come over. It would increase the crowd (fairweather, but still..) and might be a draw for other players to want to come to New York in future years.

But I just don't see it, he's in a pretty good team in Cleveland and the pressure on him to win a title would be huge, so why leave a contender for the Knicks? It really seems the only reasons for LeBron to come to New York is for off the court reasons. I don't think that's enough for us to nab him.

I wish I was as optimistic as you guys....I give it 20% chance tops. We'd be lucky to get Joe Johnson in 2010....And still have problems in other areas, as JJ isn't a Lebron
