May 8, 2004 -- Kurt Thomas played the season's final three months with a dislocated right pinkie on his shooting hand, The Post has learned. During a visit to a Dallas hand specialist yesterday, X-rays showed Thomas' dislocation and was advised he probably needs surgery, according to his agent, Jerry Hicks.
Thomas will visit one more specialist - an orthopedist from Fort Worth - next week before deciding definitively on surgery, Hicks said. Last week, Thomas was examined by Knicks doctors who suggested the likelihood he needed pinkie surgery.

"It was pretty informative," Hicks said of yesterday's examination. "We saw that the problem was a joint dislocation. The doctor thinks surgery may be necessary, but we'll get one more opinion before we reach that conclusion."

Thomas, who slumped the final five weeks of the regular season, did not miss a single game, though he played with a deformed-looking, swollen and bent pinkie in a splint. When the season ended, Thomas said he would seek second and third opinions because he didn't "trust team doctors."

That would suck for Kurt...
I bet it would be sore....
Pains would last for the rest of his life...

yea he gets respect for fighting thru the messed up pinky, but I say deal him anyway.

I think that's exactly what Isiah is trying to do. Can't wait to see what we'll get for KT.
