Honestly, I think they are going to run him into the ground. It happens so often in football, a great player is pushed too hard, decides to attempt to break every tackle instead of stepping out, his knees and back goes, and then his career is over. I would never have put LT in the hands of Rex Ryan, that's just asking for a disaster.
I do believe that the Jets need to step up with their choice of defensive ends. They've got Ellis who is just too old for the game and at best will only make it halfway through the season before his body breaks down on him. If they are going to contain the run and the passing games, they need a ton of pressure. Especially since there is a ton of film on their defensive scheme now and teams can figure out how to break them down early and hard. If Rex Ryan can switch up the game successfully and the team is revamped in terms of aging players and plays, then they have a good shot at the conference championship. This also includes Sanchez staying healthy and being able to compete EVERY possession.
