SO you think we would have made the playoffs with Marbury coming off the bench? First, it's all speculation and hindsight on your part. Second, after trading away our best talent there was no saving the last two seasons. Third, playing Marbury does nothing to advance our 2010 goal.
The guy was an emotional cancer and was practically DNP on the Celtics and now is toiling away in China. If he had some worth don't you think there would have been ONE NBA team to offer him a min contract? I guess Dant controls every team in this league now...
EDIT**Advocating for us to keep Zach and Crawford only shows you are a poor judge of talent. Yes, these guys at the time were our two best players but they did not compliment one another nor did they have a surrounding cast capable of maximizing their skills. Further they would have hampered Lee's progression.
What the hell are u talking about?
I did not mention anything about playoffs....I mention D'Antoni being an offensive coach and Isiah left him with a roster of offensive players that could have gathered alot of wins during a weak (poor PG) NBA league in the 2008-9 season. Starters Marbury & Nate (backcourt) won the Knicks 6 straight games, having Marbury & Nate come off the bench with fresh legs on oponents bench players was a 65% Knick win in the 2008-9 season.
The Knick "WINS" wouldve boosted up the trade-value of all the players on the roster. We could have made some decent trades rather than trade for all the next team garbage players.
Boston let Rondo run the entire show for 39 mpg in the playoffs last year.
Marbury ate Rondo up alive twice last year in the preseason games where a benched Eddie House did his best to try and distract Marbury.
