Thanks Rady, cool pics.
We're being protected by Jupiter. The massive gas planet's gravity deflects impact threats.
But at the same time, between Jupiter and Neptune, there are orbiting centaurs (ice planetoids) that pose a threat to the earth as they can be thrown in to the inner solar system.
So Jupiter, as one of the creating components of centaurs, is both a source of threats and a source of protection to planet earth and its inhabitants. With no Jupiter, it is much harder for centaurs to be thrown into the inner solar system, but it is also harder for objects to be removed from the solar system.
What sort of creator would create that sort of conundrum?
I don't mean to poop on your religion dude, you're obviously cool, I just don't understand that mode of thinking.
This is wrong. As I stated previously in this thread:
We do know for certain, without doubt, that our star (sun) will eventually use up all of its hydrogen and die. In about 7 billion years it will expand into a Red Giant and wipe out the earth. It will then retract into a white dwarf. We've seen stars form and die throughout the universe. Our sun and planetary solar system are no different than any star we see.
This is a fact. The Sun only has a finite amount of hydrogen and we know for certain how long it will take to use up the remaining amount of hydrogen the Sun has. This is as much a fact as if you were to hold a ball in your hand and let go, that it would fall to the floor. We know for certain that the ball will fall to the floor as we know for certain that the Sun will die, and in this process will wipe out the Earth.
Sorry, wrong again.
