BUT WE HAVE TO SEE THE ROSTER come Sept to judge. Heck, what if we sign Bosh or Amare, and LJ? Keep Curry or deal Eddy for Okefor. Would we really need Jarvis Varnado then?
BUT, if Walsh gets nothing and swings and misses come free agency.... COMPLETE DISASTER.
However, only a fool would make the Jeffries deal unless he felt (heard) he had a better than 50/50 chance to land LJ. Say, for example, someone saying LJ will come to NYC ONLY if you can bring Bosh as well? Who knows. Find out next week.
If we got Okafor, Bosh, and LeBron James, we would STILL need a center because Okafor is decent but we have NO depth at the Center position off the bench (unless you're in the minority that thinks Earl Barron's decent 7 games means he's all of a sudden a solid bench contributor).
If we got Okafor, Bosh, and LeBron, we'd STILL need a point guard, and we STILL don't have one. Jarvis Varnado would help because like it or not Bosh isn't great on defense and he could've come in as a defensive stopper.
If we get LeBron James and Chris Bosh we're STILL stuck with the fact that we have five small forwards (LeBron, Gallo, Chandler, Walker, Fields) and no interior defense whatsoever (Varnado, Alabi, etc. would've helped that) and NO depth at the guard position (Chandler can play SG but he's not that good, Rautins looks like a catch and shoot player off the bench at best, and Walker is decent but injury prone and not really starting material. Even if Walker and Chandler handle the role fine we still need a point guard which we don't have)
