Alex Kennedy - 07/01/2010 8:03pm EST- The Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks are keeping an eye on restricted free agent Tyrus Thomas. Both teams have expressed interest in the forward and are expected to make a hard push for him if they can't land any of their top targets.
The Charlotte Bobcats can match any offer that Thomas receives but both Minnesota and New York have enough money to put together a deal out of Charlotte's price range.

We can def offer more than the Bobcats can and his numbers are very impressive. I heard he is a bad locker room guy, which is the only thing from Donnie Walsh really going after him. We know what the Knicks do to guys who cause clubhouse problems........benched.

Thomas can be a starter on any team and he would be a huge upgrade at defense from David Lee.

He would be a big improvement at the 4 defensively. But he'd also choke up any inside>outside ball rotation. If we had Stat and Tyrus Thomas in the front court, once the ball were to go in, it'd never come out again.

Basically rendering Gallo useless in half court sets.

I still think the one RFA we should sign is Anthony Morrow. It's almost a no-brainer, right? Fits the system perfectly. 5th in NBA in shooting the 3s. Would be our Leandro Barbosa. He and Gallo would be the snipers for Douglas-Amar'e-LJ, as they employ the pick-n-roll/pop.

GSW offered 1.5. WOW! Overpay. Give him Ramon Session type money. 4 mil per for 4 years or something. Cheap with tons of upside.

Thomas is decent but we should be set at PF. We need a C.
