I refuse to believe Carmelo Anthony is going to the Knicks. Thats my fav player and don't believe it till I see it. I wish he would play tuffer defense, but his offensive game is second to no one. Melo makes makin baskets look easy. Pure scorer is the label I give him.

And yes the Knicks did just acquire some guys, now you state they can play defense, maybe thats true, but Golden State Warriors were one of the worst defensive teams in the league, they allowed the most points, they were the worst rebounding, and were one of the worst at blocking shots... now, i want you to honestly say that someone coming from the kind of coach that Don Nelson is, and going into the practically the same kind of situation in ny will all of a sudden take on a defensive mindset. There is a chance, but the overwhelming probability is that it won't happen. NOT with D'antoni as coach.
And remember this is the same D'antoni who let Jordan Hill, and Toney Douglas who were said to be decent defenders rot on the bench for the majority of the season. How do you guys continue to have faith in this ****sucka to believe he will all of a sudden allow so called defensive minded players to actually see light on the court
And again I challenge you and other d'antoni dick huggers on that fact. He didn't have anyone these 3 years? The bucks had better players than the Knicks??? HELL NO... But the Bucks made it to the playoffs. Why, because they had a coach who knew that defense and good play calling wins games. The knicks didn't have a championship team this year or the year prior, but each year they had a team decent enough to compete for the playoffs. Mike D'antoni worthlessness as a coach prevented that. Its a shameful that you guys are unable to see that. You killed Larry Brown after one season, Lenny Wilkins was gone after one, Don Cheanny after a couple seasons, but for putting up a worthless record with decent players, you guys praise d'antoni??? C'mon now!!
Its good to be optimistic and show team loyalty, but at the same time its also good to call a spade a spade, this team is maybe slightly better than our team last year. We still don't have a point guard, we still don't have a legit 2 guard (maybe walker can be that 2, but its still a MAYBE) You guys need to stop smoking dat sh*t and start seeing things for what they are. The knicks have a team that can compete for the playoffs. THATS IT. but the knicks had a team that could have competed for the playoffs last year as well... see what happened then?
Too many people expected an instant champioinship contender. We're much, much better than last year....on paper at least and considering the upside of this young team. That's fine with me.
We just need to get rid of Curry and the Isiah stink will at least leave the building.
Honestly we have a GREAT frontcourt now.
Amare seems to be regaining the peak explosiveness and confidence that, pre-injury-, so many agreed made him a nearly revolutionary, unstoppable player. He reminded me of what LT did for linebacking in some ways.
25+ppg, multi-blocks, with masterful efficiency achieved through dominant, can't-be-contained ability.
Contract still scares me because of his age and injury history, but if he stays in shape and motivated we can't ask for much more and he'll be a force.
He isn't injury "prone". It was a freakish thing. But it happened. And there's an added risk for an obliteration if he comes down wrong on it as a result.
I'm most excited by the cap we still have left and the new contracts to trade.
If we can't seem to get Parker/Collison/KahnPG:
Ridnour-Douglas
Walker-Andy
Gallo-Chandler-Azzy
Amare-TyrusT
Randolph-Jordan
Should be able to sign Ridnour/Tyrus with néw cap assuming FA's dint start holding us hostage because of LeBastard whiff.
We'd then have Curry and other expirings ready to be dealt.
Let's pray Walsh spends the rest of the cap wisely (no bidding war for Mike Miller type bull****)
Already we are better than Chicago. They can't guard our post players. We have too much length for them to deal with. Also we are better than Charlotte and Milwaukee although i really like how both of those teams are constructed.
I'd say we get 5th seed next year.

Another excellent thread. I like what we have. We still need to get some pieces for this year. We have possibly the most athletic front court in the league now. It's a good balance of talents (e.g. scoring, rebounding, shot-blocking, etc.)
We need a PG. I still have hopes for Rubio, although those hopes diminish every day. But running with him, Randolph and Amare with Gallo on the wing is pretty good.
We need more shooters. We just do.
If we get Kevin Pritchard in here with all of our cap space and assets, we can build a contender.
And honestly, you have to ask yourselves, how much more satisfying will it be to beat the Heat in the Conference Finals, than it would have been to win with Ledouchebag?
Sky is the limit for our team. We got nice young pieces who have a ton of upside along with cap space and a ton of expiring contracts. I'm all about assembling a Heat killer.
