I personally feel GREAT about where this team is headed and is looking forward to renewing our dormant Heat rivalry. I already got over LeRobin and feel pretty relieved that we are going to war the right way, and not by buying it. NYC is a place that is better when we are angry and have a chip on our shoulders than being some uninspired front runner. With the additions of Felton and Randolph, who I think could be Camby all over again, I feel really good about having a young hungry team with capsapce for the next 2 off seasons.
There's 2 moves I want to see done though:
1) Fire Herb and get a real Defensive Specialist
-I'm not sure who is available, but we need some one other than MikeD that is going to ingrain the importance of rebounding and hard tough defense. In fact, I think we even extend and olive branch to Oakely to beat these guys up in practice and teach them how to beat up other teams. I never understood a damn thing Herb did but serve as the designated clip board holder.
2) Convince Walsh to retire and get Kevin Pritchard.
Kevin is young exec that did wonders in Portland, to the point of building up an Elvis like reputation in the league that ultimately got him canned. The story goes that he gets all the credit for rebuilding that franchise and winning trade after trade, aside from the Greg Oden miss. (Might actually be worth a look since his contract is set to expire? The upside on him is mouth watering if he can just stay healthy)
If these two moves happen, I got to say that this team has really impressed me and ready to move onto being on a track to becoming a great franchise all over again
