Concerns for Gallo, Knicks

Oh my God, you're crucifying a talented 22 years old guy because of some lacks in the pre-season !!

I am not saying that he is going to be a Dirk like player but merely stating the fact that he did not stay in the US over the summer does not suffice as a reason to call him lazy.
As far as the bad habits are concerned I would like to offer you a hyothesis: What if he went back to Italy, his mind set on working on his post up game (as his range is pretty decent for a player of his size already) and once training camp started he was asked to stroke it from distance again because of Amare will free up space on the perimeter? Of course it would take him some time to get back into shape.
I am not claiming this to be true, but I want to point out that there are different reasons why things might be what they are AT THE MOMENT and we are all no insiders.
As a fan you might have a legitimate point once the season is well under way and the situation is still the same. This is only PRE-season.

@ Real NY Baller? Which ones do you like?

Fair enough I can take the wait and see approach. But I can see Gallo quickly playing himself out of this rotation if he decides to sit outside and heave up his usual doorknobs from deep. With Gallo's size, athleticism, and shooting touch, he should be getting better shot opportunities and more trips to the charity stripe.

Right on Jim. Now that is a pragmatic opinion I can get w! I agree w u.

Gallo MUST expand his game beyond just 3pt shooting for him to properly compliment Amare.

Gallo is not just a 3p shooter. Last year in Italy many people were surprised to see him plays in that way, because is not how he usually played here.
Maybe is what the staff asked him to do becasue of the athletism of the NBA compared to the european basket, I don't know, but for sure in him DNA there is a different basket that only the 3p shoot.

This is the Gallo that we were habit to see...

I kno that. But deft 3p shooting is what he's shown MOSTLY since he's been in the league.

I started a whole thread about why Gallo was drafted and how he is mistakenly seen as 1 dimensional amongst other things was discussed at length.

I think the high propensity he had for throwing them up from behind the arc was partly to do w recovering from the back injury, settling and that the offense encourages launching from deep. These factors created a sort of feedback loop resulting in what we saw from him, leading to the misconceptions we've seen from a lot of posters.

Probably yes.
And I'm sure that Gallo would be in the starting line of at least half of the NBA teams.
Marco Belinelli (I know him because he's italian too) is in the starting line of the Hornets, and he's a lot of miles far away from Gallo.

Rotation player
gallo needs to work on his handling, consistency, and shot selection. needs to stop dribbling like a 7 year old. needs to hit the open threes that are given to him and he needs to stop taking threes when hes covered tight.

GET TO THE BASKET AND DRAW MORE FOULS
