This 9 Man Rotation can be a threat, and alot of people don't know it.

First of all, D'Antoni has done a good job so far. We lost two close games, and looked great in all our victories. D'Antoni has a roster with 5 new players in Fields, Turiaf, Randolph, Felton, Mozgov. and Kelenna, Rautins, Mason who haven't really been part of the rotation. Its impressive me to get these guys gelling early.

Lets assess this 9 man rotation and present a theory on why they will be a threat.

Felton
Passing - B
Pick and Roll - B+
Speed and Agility - B+
Defense B
Scoring - B-
Quite possilby

He's not Chris Paul or D-Will, but he goes in. Excellent all around PG.

Fields

Athelicism - B+
Inside/Outside Ability - B
Defense - B
Jumpshot - B

Only knock on Fields is his lateral quickness. But to assess, he's another overall offense/defense guy and meshes well with Ray Ray.

Gallinari
Shooting A
Defense C
Rebounding D
IQ/Awareness - B+
Inside Game - F

Gallo to me is just Peja with more defense and potential. He is what he is.

Stoudimire
Inside scoring A+
Pick and Roll C
Defense - B-
Rebounding - B
Value - A+

He's our franchise player...needs to work on his pick and roll play with Felton

Turiaf

Energy, Defense, Shotblocking, Rebounding, Intangibles

Mozgov

I don't know.

Chandler

You guys know I been a hater, but he's been our best all around player, I can't front. I feel like if he keeps playing like this we should use him as trade bait to get a superstar.

Walker, love him.

Douglas, I'm in love. seriously. Offensively, Defensively; he's been Jon Starks like.

Randolph could be our best overall player once he starts getting minutes.

This team is DEEP, strong and work well together. Everyone on this team can do something defensive and offensively.

We're no longer one dimensional.

Celebration bitches!

Nice post Metro.

The only things that I dis-agre a little on are 1 I don't think Gallo is that bad of a rebounder (D) , but I can also see your point cause he is like 6'10" :) , and I also dis-agree a little on his inside game, even thou he hasn't been posting up guy's he has been going to the hole more, hasn't been finishing, but has been getting fouled and that's just as good if not better IMO.

And 2 ..... I'm finding it kind of hard to jump on the Anthony Randolf ban wagon, he play's like an out of control 5th grade B-Ball player with no basketball IQ at all. If he can't shoot (witch he can't) he should be smart enough to use his one only strength and drive the ball using his great speed and ball handling abilitly's by much slower big men and get to the rim. I also think he is only getting playing time because Walsh and Mike are going to try and up his trade value, witch hasn't worked out so well...... yet.

Think your dead nuts on everything else thou :D

All Randolph needs is experience. The talent is there.

I really want to see Gallo drive more and be like Hedo rather than Peja. It'll create more movement with the ball.

But so far we look great.

Wha up Metro...... the Knicks "need" this 9+Man rotation for the next two
months to build chemistry and comunication amongst the players.
We are suppose to be running a two-unit team right now vs every Knick oponent.
A 2-unit team
Felton & Walker vs Douglas & Fields (Guard Tandem)
Amare & Chandler vs Gallo & Randolph (Foward Tandem)
Turiaf vs Mozgov (Center)
Mason & Curry suppose to be apart of the 1st-unit
Rottens & S.Williams belongs on the 2nd unit
This is considered the basics to feel-out each players team performance.
In the 4th quarter we suppose to play our best 7-man rotation which seem to be:
Turiaf
Amare
Chandler
Gallo
Fields
Douglas
Felton or Walker
the above 7+ players are our 4th qtr. Closers

Coach Dantoni favoritism coaching of "Felton/Amare/and Gallo" trio
lineup does not perform well together on both sides of the court. The three
players look lost on the court together, this trio of players shouldve worked
out together this past summer to build a relationship on the court.
The relationship of Douglas, Fields, Walker, and Chandler on the court are
more efficient and aware of each others skills from their steady working out
together all summer at the Knicks practice facility.

Are we making good use of every player on our roster in our practice session???
It does'nt look like it

Agreed! I think even inserting him into the starting 5 would jolt his confidence and the rest of his game will follow.

I think when he is out there he is trying to prove his worth and tries too hard, if he knows that his coach has confidence in him and is not going to pull him upon his first mistake he will come into his own.

I am starting to cool off on Randolph. He has been awfully bad and hard to watch. His shots are totally off target and his confidence is down the ground. I hope he gets it going but it will take a miracle at this point.

Whats good Metro? Breh, we've come a long ways from the Isiah days. We gonna be eatin good this year:cool:

The potential this team has, once we get more chemistry and consistency teams will get pissed and sh*tted on

The way we played against the Wizards and Bulls was beautiful....I loved what I saw. I realize the Bulls had an off game but we didnt and we took advantage of them. And by saying the Bulls had an off game, im not trying to discredit our defense...it was defenitely there and played a part in the Bulls being off.

I think we're gonna take another step up when Azuibuke comes back...he can shoot, slash and defend...he can also play the 2 or 3. That just gives us more versatility if anyones struggling...Randolph is bound to start playing better at some point too.

I have a man crush on Ronny Turiaf (no homo) this guy was terrible during the preseason but once the season began hes been the best center and shot blocker that we've had in years

You're right about his confidence being in the gutter but I think you're wrong about the miracle part. He'll put it together after a while.

It just takes time really, the guy came from a team where he got yanked around the rotation up and down like a yo-yo. Of course he's going to feel down when the trade was hyped so badly that he was going to be beasting in New York. I think most of us with a sense of realism knew he was going to come in as a 10mpg guy until he started to get some consistent game.

Either he will start to perform or we can just trade him in a package for someone better, either way would be nice for us.

I'm not a fan of Mozgov, like you said Turiaf is doing it. But is he a better bench player or starter? His energy is Blakman like.

Yea he is more of a bench player...I wish he was a little bit more skilled offensively. Im not too high on Mosgov either, he might have some potential but some of us knicks fans are gettin his potential mixed up with how good he actually is right now...which is not very good. He blocks shots but he still needs alotta work on his defense and offense. I hope Randolph starts playin good soon and Dantoni benches Mosgov.

I'm glad to see Wilson getting some respect on here, dude is our third best player behind two legitimate All-Stars in Ray and STAT.

What I don;t get is the support for Gallo and Randolph. Gallo is averaging the same numbers this year as he did last year except his shooting has gotten worse not better, so I don;t get where you got the "A" for shooting. Fields, Amare, Felton and Wilson all have higher shooting percentages, he is the worst shooter in our starting lineup. The argument can be made that he has the potential to be a good shooter, but i am not buying that argument when he is regressing. Most of his shots are wide open threes, where as Felton for example is shooting floaters in traffic and pull up jumpers off the dribble. Gallo also isn't fooling anybody with his defense. He has shown the occasional nice block here and there but don't be fooled, he is soft which is why he can't play the 4 like Chandler. So I am going to be absolutely clear, Gallo has not shown me he has what it takes now, nor do i see the potential for him to be good enough in the future. He will serve us better as a trade chip then a player.

Anthony Randolph is garbage, he has had 21 years to learn how to play ball. Right now he is literally the dumbest player on the team save for maybe Curry. What makes you or anyone else think hes going to grow a basketball I.Q. over the next few seasons? I put his chance of being a serious rotation player at 10% -15% tops. If the Knicks are smart they will hold onto him for a little while until the right offer comes along, otherwise just cash him in for a pick. His stock is not going to go higher I can tell you that.

I'm telling it like I see it dude. If you want to prove me wrong back it up, there is no BS in that post. "Randolph our best overall player" if anything I was being nice by keeping my mouth shut. But too many people on here kiss your ass and don't call you out on garbage predictions like this one. Its amazing how seemingly your always "right," perhaps its because you on one thread you say I support mike D'Antoni and the next week you say we need to fire him. You were wrong about Chandler, wrong about Marbury and now your wrong about Gallo. But wow, you don't even give me a stat or an observation to contradict my post. Check Mate Loserbury

I respect your opinions, but it's still too early to say definitively what you said about Gallo.. Again, patience is needed here. This is still a crucial learning time for him imo.

I'm calling it now because I just don't see it with him. Statistics and daily observations all point to Gallo just being another guy. I have made the argument that he is regressing this season. How is this team going to win when our three point specialist is streaky at best. If Gallo was an elite shooter that needed to develop skills than hes worth waiting on but thats not the case. Show me one statistic that Gallo leads in. Show me the superior +/- or PER rating that suggests otherwise. I am not making this stuff up, again I call it like I see it and when I turn out to be right I expect my rep points!

Well, there is a difference between shooting a high feild goal percentage and being a great pure shooter. Kobe Bryant, for example, is a terrififc pure shooter, but his FG percentage can sometimes be relatively average because he takes a lot of difficult shots and is a volume shooter/scorer. Gallo is clearly our best pure jump shooter on the team. His range on 3's is virtually unlimited and when he is on a role, he is quite deadly. Put it this way, with the game on the line and the Knicks down by two, if I gave you a choice of one Knick to take an open three for the win, it would have to be Gallo. There is certainly real value there. Also, the guy is a money free throw shooter and is getting better and better at drawing fouls at critical times. Overall though, I completely agree with your assessment that Wilson Chandler is a considerably better all-around player and more valuable to us than Gallo is. And I agree with the rest of your post, wholeheartedly.

In terms of form Gallo is without a doubt mechanically sound. This is most evident at the free throw line. So I completely agree with you there. I am just trying to make the argument for his inconsistency and inefficiency.
