December Schedule is rough

The December schedule will require "team-defense" in all 13 games.
Mozgov & Randolph will have to step up their Gellin with teammates on the
defensive end. It would be nice if Herb Williams got up off his lazy ass to
show the gaurds how to get Mozgov & Randolph into the offense in the low
post. Dantoni is not experience in that area.
I see a Knick 5-8 record at the end of December (15-17) to start the New Year.

What's your prediction of our record at the start of the New Year?

Yes it is rough. We have a few so so games, and then Judgement day arrives, as to where we stand with the Elite NBA teams. Lakers, Mavs, Orlando, Heat 2x, Jazz, Nuggets, Hornets, OKlahoma, Grizzles etc ... If we play .500 ball in December, i'll be a happy camper

schedules in the NBA mean absolutely nothing

over an 82 game span

we play every team equally in comparison to every other team.

Therefore, it does not matter what hard stretch we do or dont have in our season

if we played the top 14 or so teams in the first 41 games of the season

and then played the worst 14 or so teams in the last 41 games of the season


pending on whether we are a good or bad team

the results should end up the same as if we play harder teams in december, and easier teams in november.

I cant stand this whole logic of

no

we have a stretch, easy hard, mediocre, does not make a difference



the bottom line is
you play the games one at time

and compete night in and night out


at the end of the year

Reality-check
When u bet as much money as I have in the past 30 years for the
Knicks to win, then u could be just as pessimistic (or real) as Kiyaman.

There are big odds on the Knicks December schedule...

or a professional gambler

because from a fans perspective,

the season is what matters

not december

if we arent a good team


we will miss the playoffs

if we are a good team


we will make the playoffs

either way

the season is 82 games

Plus we are playing with a lot of confidence right now, so going into a "tough stretch" is not as scary as it would be if we were playing bad.

And while the skeptics will point out our most recent loss being to a team with a winning record, I say it was more about how bad we played as oppossed to what Atlanta did, so if we get up for these games, then we should be fine.

But I do see where you are coming from Kiya, yet if The Knicks play good solid basketball, then we should win our fair share of these games.

Tonight is a great barometer!

I believe as long as we are at 100% healthwise. We can compete with anyone. What's cool also is Felton looks like he's taking his game to another level, which should help a lot. Its a new day and i can't wait till 8 tonight

You have a good point, but so does Kiyaman.

In fact, from December 12 to January 31, the Knicks have a very difficult schedule.

The season does even out, which is why the Knicks' first 24 games of this season are primarily against sub .500 teams, many of which are injury depleted.

The problem is that the Knicks blew their chance to dominate the bad teams, and now they're barely .500.

So when the Knicks play the top teams, they will likely start losing and fall far below .500, unless Stoudemire can continue to put up 30+ points and Felton can continue to put up 20+ points, which is not likely, considering they're human and can't play flawless all year long.

This is why I don't believe in D'Antoni. Most teams would be several games over .500, with the schedule the Knicks have had thus far.

Next four games are very very winnable. Knicks are now 11-9 with a realistic chance of being 15-9.
