we need to get some flow on offense, we keep jackin shots theres no rhythm and it's been like that all night, were still in it but we need to get a flow soon!

we need a C asap, were getting killed on the boards

Hey, we stayed in the game till the final minutes against every top team but the Heat. There are a few teams we can't beat in regular conditions yet. But we're close to that level.

But honestly if LA was playing like they should and were at full strength do we stay that close? Just a thought...

giving it up against the big guys

this game of basketball involves shooting a little ball into a basket high above everyone's heads.
having taller guys gives you an advantage. having smaller guys gives you a disadvantage.
however, our coach believes having a faster and better shooting team overcomes these odds. wrong!
Phil Jackson understands this, he plays 2 bigs on the court at all times. what happens?
Lamar Odumb gets 13 pts and 18 rebounds in 28 minutes.
Pow Gasshole = 14 rebounds.
END RESULT: Knicks outrebounded 61 to 42, absolutely taken advantage in the paint.

this was foreseen, it was a given, and there's nothing we could do about it... or could we?
how about playing Tuffiaf for 7 minutes? how about playing (basically) a 7 man rotation?
how about putting your 7 footer in at garbage time? are the Knicks gassed from 2 great games in a row?
Is STUD and Feltip a tad tired? Horrible first half for both, STUD made up for it, Feltip did not.

sh*tty game from Tony Chill, the difference maker.
24 minutes, 2 points (garbage time points).

Let's face it, Knicks still need backup PG, and a real Center. but will Antoni play any center we have?
or will they go play in turkey or serbia because they know they won't get run in small rotation?

If Knicks don't shoot close to 50% in the SSOL we're going to end up with LOSS.
This was a game where we missed Gallopony's clutch shooting, or at least a taller player to show face.

We were dominated and that sucks a lame mustache.
:boohoo:

The good news: Fields looked good and held his own against Kobe; and we were in the game (down 7 with 10 to play) despite playing without Gallo and that both Felton and Amar'e had off nights.

Looking at the big pciture, Knicks are 7-7 ever since this "brutal" stretch of about 20 games (a month-long character test) got started. I think we proved that we are good enough to be a 4-6 seed, that we wont fold like tents.... even if we also proved that we wont be beating the top-top teams in the league (championship caliber teams).

We have a back-2-back coming up Tue-Wed (@POR, @UTA). Let's hope for a split, then come home and take care of biz vs SAC & PHO, then head off on another road trip (@HOU, @SA, @SAC). THE.... drum roll please.... The toughest part of the schedule is over. The rest of the way is pretty much clear sailing, with some tough games sprinkled in here and there.

Not too shabby.

We all agreed that a .500 run this month of tough games would have been par. Anything close would keep us in contention, and be acceptable. Going 5 game sunder or more would have been BAD.

Well, here we are. 7-7. 7 to play. 5 road games (Yikes). Split next 2, win both at home, win another on the 3 game trip.... There you go... We conclude "brutal" run with a 11-10 record. Not bad for our 21-game test of will!

There was no way we were strolling into Staples with a full force Laker team and taking a dub. Not a chance. This game is a pass in my book. Still was glad the team stayed aggressive and played with some passion. Didn't see the game, but saw us get into it a little to show some spirit.

Lot of silly mistakes, missed very easy shots (including a Chandler dunk) and botched foul shots are the negatives.

On a positive note, Knicks managed to stay close even with Amare/Felton having terrible games, didn't back down to playing physical and never gave up till the end.

This game showed how vulnerable we are to a much bigger team (to be fair, just about every team is smaller than the lakers) when we can't make outside shots. The Lakers completely jammed up the middle and the Knicks couldn't hit an outside shot worth a damn. This was one of those games Gallinari would have showed a bit of his value. Williams/Walker both played very nervous tonight with silly mistakes and horrid free throw shooting.

what's Mozgrov's salary, how much does he get paid to can't even catch a basketball?

3M.

I missed game, but it seems Gallo's ft shooting as a big who can catch n shoot and drive, and proclivity to bust out deep in close or would-be close games could have helped. But maybe not...

I'm not too miffed about Turiaf minutes. More conventional to have given the big man more time? Yes. Also more likely we just lose more conventionally.

We are an inferior team. Just as we are to Bos, etc. We are 'supposed' to lose. We don't, or have our best chance in theory, by doing the one thing we smother and do better than an otherwise better team --run n gun, shoot.

And hope it can be so powerful it overshadows on given nights being an inferior, worse-built, less-complete squad.

We are a relevant winning squad, dangerous to all, bc of our offense...shooting...unique ability and propensity to run n gun. Is thst the same as saying "bc of Mike D'antoni"?

The transition to the highest echelon will require superior defense and utilization of size. But this is principally a personel matter bat this pt, and grasping at straws with D'ant while his game is truly the hand that feeds and is feeding...is too zealous n premature. Not that I'd be stunned if we had quality players with size/D who D'ant misused...but we don't right now.

AR, moz, curry, darko and co. are cumulative junk. Obv ar/moz should be groomed or in ar's case, rehab'd.

Turiaf alone dispels myth of D'ant not giving bigs burn. He's but a quality veteran big. A good role player, hustle gut. Yet he bas been made instrumental throughout the season.

just picture what will happen when the Celtics get back perkins and a more healthy shaq

they will get skull fukked in the finals if Bynum is healthy. The Lakers barely beat bumston with Bynum barely playing, imagine if he was healthy that whole series. Bumston woulda been done in 5 games

What happened to that "Are Knicks Better W/O Gallo" thread lol.

i agree la2ny, its stupid to even bring Gallo up. Fukks hes gonna do against Bynum and Gasol? Hes 6'10 but he damn sure dont play like it. Not saying hes soft, but hes on the soft side. Im not hatin on Gallo by the way, just statin the facts. If anything we needed Turiaf or Patrick Ewing in his prime.

I was very impressed with Bynum and i would like rape Isiah with a broomstick, sandpaper for drafting the softest player ever Channing Frye instead of Bynum. He felt like Bynum couldnt handle the pressure in NY at his young age....eat a dikk DIEsayuh
