Amar'e Stoudemire wants to play with his buddy Steve Nash...
Lakers are adamant they want to move Pau Gasol...

So Pau for Stat?

Thoughts?

This would be a dream for us. Pau is much more valuable than STAT to us. They would have to be stupid to trade Pau for STAT though.

If this was on the table, reasons why the Lakers "should" make this trade:

-First off 2 get Gasol out of town.

-Gasol is the face of the Lakers meltdown—how quickly the team and the town has soured on him.

-Stoudemire fits.

-A frontcourt featuring Bynum and Stoudemire would work well because it accentuates each player's strengths. Amare is an athletic, above the rim scorer who would provide an added dimension to the Lakers game. Amare is not a rebounder, but would be an effective help defender and off position shot blocker.

-Stoudemire extends the title window.

-With recently acquired Steve Nash, the Lakers are going to retool, Amare Stoudemire is the best player available. Nash & Stat have history that could work in favor of to get Kobe more wide open jump shots.

If this was on the table, reasons why the Knicks "should" make this trade:

-The Knicks are no longer Stoudemire's team.

-No matter how good Stoudemire is, he cannot impact the game like Anthony.

-Gasol is better than Stoudemire.

-
Stoudemire is the better athlete and finisher. Every game he has a moment or two that simply wows you. At every other level, Gasol is the better player. On defense, Gasol is an above average rebounder and is capable of defending elite players one-on-one at the center or power forward position. On offense, Gasol is one of the most efficient players in the league, capable of scoring from the post or facing the basket. He has very good court vision and is an adept passer for a big man.

Lol i thought doing Stat for Pau was the better move but I want to see if Amare bounces back this year.

If he doesn't then we should do everything to ship him off

Knicks fans... Hearing Amar'e Stoudemire is working his tail off... he has a trainer with him everywhere he's going working twice per day.

Good to see his physical regime is what it should be after last year's disappointment.

He has a long way to go in terms of defense, awareness and rebounding though. Those were the biggest disappointments of last season. Melo's and Fields' shooting being the others. Melo found his and FIelds is gone now so it's all on you Stouderetire.

That is great news, plus Hakeem Olajuwon is working on Amares post game.

If Amare just hit his mid range shot like he did the year before, then people wouldn't be so pissed. we don't expect him to put up big numbers in rebounding or playing great defense but we do expect him to hit an open jump shot, which he failed to do for most of the year.

He showed that his game was affected mentally. Missing open jump shots, like Landry Fields, was telling me Amare lost confidence in his shot. He has to stop with this nonesense and remember he is a beast.

THeres no chance. The lakers trading Pau for Amar'e they'd find themselves in exactly the same place they are now. A big being paid a lot more money then they want to pay him.
