Not our best game of the season but certainly our best win. I still think the San Antonio win is our best game, so far.. :gony:

I wonder how the ABOVE players feel about the 20 point WIN over the Heats .............

Carmelo has already been part of a 20 point win against the Heat. The only one i wonder about is Stat...but not even. I think he realizes that hes just a role player when he comes back. Im sure Shump is very confident that he'll only help us more. Camby on the other hand, Id rather not comment :SadCambyFan:

Any more excuses haters....???

Likes of Barkley well and truly need to STFU for good.

No Melo, STAT or Shump...what else haters require no Felton, Chandler and Kidd? Love to see Miami minus just LBJ and watch the Titanic sink.

Miami at the moment the definition of a one man team, Wade regression continues and Bush still does not truly fit in. Star nut hugging NBA will ensure the Heat be right there at the end but basketball wise they're a seriously flawed team, much like the over hyped Lakers.

What is this thing the players do where they point to their headbangs after a 3?

Its something Rasheed started, 3 to the dome. There was actually an article about it in one of the New York newspapers. The writer thought it was a bad idea for the knicks to be doing this smh

This .gif is gold.

Really surprised to see the boxscore...
Missed the game because I was at the gym with the wife.
We blew the Heat out again without Melo.
We only had 7 turnovers...against the Heat, we're normally turnover prone. remember the rape they committed against Jeremy Lin?

May we dig deep in this win and observe how much quality depth this team has. 3 strong PG's who can play on both ends of the floor...they're not top 10 PG's in the NBA, but they're pretty damn good and all deserve 20 minutes per game. Heres love to Bishop, J-Kidd and Pablito.

Am I the only happy to see Kurt Thomas made a difference finally? We've loved him during the Layden era...now that he's back I was hoping for him to play a solid role here. Solid game for KT.

We are the truth.
I remember on RealGM a lot of fans were hating on the Knicks wins, you even had a Philadelphia fan convinced the Knicks weren't going to make the playoffs.

This victory is more than a statement, we've tattooed the league and show them theres no challenge that we can't overcome.

This is a celebration.

Carmelo Anthony insists he’s not making a gun reference as he celebrates one of his four 3-pointers, but true or not, Knick star is sending disturbing signal.

Here was Carmelo Anthony draining four 3-pointers against an inferior Phoenix Suns team on Sunday at the Garden and then putting a couple of fingers next to his head every time he hit one, as if he were shooting himself. On his fourth one, he was quite emphatic.
With the Jovan Belcher murder-suicide in Kansas City happening the day before, with guns so prevalent in society and wreaking so much carnage, it hardly looks like the appropriate way to celebrate an NBA three.
But Anthony went out of his way to insist after the Knicks’ 106-99 win that the three-to-the-head signal has nothing to do with guns.
“No. Never. Of course not," he said as he left the Knicks’ locker room with his young son, Kiyan.
Then the Knicks’ star added: “Hell, no!"

NBA players have been accused of making gun references on the court or gang references, aspersions that in the majority of cases are unfair or just wrong. But unfortunately, it happens, as it is now happening with the Knicks.
“I know that’s how people will look at it,’’ Anthony said. “But it’s just for three points, that’s all.’’
But in today’s world, it probably won’t stop the talk. If he and his teammates don’t like the backlash, they’d be wise to come up with another signal.
Larry Johnson’s fist-to-the-elbow, anyone?
The famous four-point specialist was at courtside, taking in his old team’s 12th win of the season. When he was introduced over the P.A. and shown on the TV scoreboard, he made his trademark sign, to a raucous ovation. But that’s his sign, and it’s so ’90’s. This Knicks team probably won’t go to it because it’s not original.
From all accounts, these Knicks are sticking with the sign, created by Rasheed Wallace. Only Anthony used it Sunday when he scored 34 points against a Suns team that fell behind early with a slew of turnovers and then found itself chasing the Knicks all day.
“When they’re playing from in front, they’re so hard to beat because they can really make those threes,’’ said Suns coach Alvin Gentry.

Stephen Barcelo for New York Daily News

A vigil at the home of the late Javon Belcher.

Steve Novak did his hands-to-the-waist sign, mimicking putting on a championship boxing belt. Raymond Felton and Ronnie Brewer, the only other Knicks who made threes in a game when they shot too many, allowing Phoenix to pull within six points late, didn’t even bother doing anything.
“It just means three," Novak said of Wallace’s sign. “ We just sit around and come up with these kinds of silly things."

The Knicks have been doing it all season. Even in an MSG commercial shown before the game, you see Wallace tapping his head after he nails a three.
“I’m just representing my man, Rasheed Wallace — three-to-the-dome," Anthony said. “It’s just three, nothing major."
If it was a gun reference, as has been strongly suggested in references on the Internet, then you can bet it would be major, and the Knicks would have to stop using it. There is no place in an NBA game for glorifying guns. That would send the wrong message to everyone. When it comes to guns, it’s never a minor issue, as if some players need to be reminded how guns have sometimes tragically affected their lives, or the close calls some have been in when they’ve been around firearms.
Go back to last summer when Nate Robinson was watching a game at Rucker Park. Suddenly the ex-Knick and some friends found themselves scrambling for cover when gunfire erupted, resulting in several people being shot. As someone who was at Rucker that night recounted, Robinson was at the other end of the court from the gunman. “But when somebody is shooting a gun off and you’re there, it seems like they’re right next to you," the person said.
The Knicks made a ton of threes on Friday in their previous win at home, over Washington. That night it seemed that everyone did the three-to-the-head signal. That’s when the talk of it being a gun thing got hot. Then on Saturday, Belcher ended his girlfriend’s life, and shortly thereafter his own life in the Arrowhead Stadium parking lot, bringing the whole issue of guns and athletes back to the fore.
By the time the Knicks had posted their latest win, Wallace was long gone, having been ejected in the first quarter after picking up two technicals. So he wasn’t around to explain his sign.
Even if it’s not about guns, he might want to come up with an alternative.

Ahh u beat me to it. And that is a pathetic reach. Sensitivity is a huge problem with sports and society, the writers just trying to stir up some controversy and make a name for himself. I dont know much about him, i always read the post

MIAMI (AP) Raymond Felton scored a season-high 27 points, and the New York Knicks connected on 18 3-pointers to more than offset the absence of Carmelo Anthony while topping Miami for the second time this season, beating the Heat 112-92 on Thursday night.

201212062225807502061-p2.jpg

Steve Novak scored 18 points, J.R. Smith added 13 and Tyson Chandler scored 13 for the Knicks, who won their fifth straight and moved 1 1/2 games clear of Miami for the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks made eight 3-pointers in the third quarter alone, the most by any NBA team in any quarter so far this season.

Anthony sat out, one night after needing five stitches to close a cut on the middle finger of his left hand.

LeBron James nearly picked up his second straight triple-double - 31 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists - in Miami's second straight loss. Dwyane Wade scored 13 points, Chris Bosh had 12 and Udonis Haslem added 10 for the Heat, who fell to 8-1 at home.

Rasheed Wallace scored 12 and Jason Kidd added 11 for the Knicks, who finished 18 for 44 from 3-point range.

It was tied at 53 at the half, and the third quarter changed everything for the Knicks. Kidd made a 3-pointer, Felton followed with consecutive 3s and New York was up by nine with 9:42 left in the period and the Heat seemed stunned.
New York was only getting started.

In all, it was an eight-3-pointers-in-eight-minutes barrage that decided this one, with five different players getting in on the act for the Knicks. Smith hit the last of them with 3:25 left in the third, and a pair of free throws by Chandler moments later gave New York - again, without its best player - an 18-point lead on the road against the reigning NBA champions.

There was one run late in the third, a 13-3 burst by Miami that got the Heat within eight in the final seconds of the quarter. It was the last - and really, the only - gasp for Miami, as the Knicks just kept firing away in the fourth.
Felton finished 10 for 20 from the floor, adding seven assists and four rebounds. He was 6 for 10 from beyond the arc, Novak was 4 for 9, while Smith and Kidd were each 3 for 8 from long range.

Miami had two field goals in the first seven minutes of the final quarter, and when New York decided to put it away, it was with 3-pointers, of course. Novak made one for a 100-84 lead, another to stretch the margin to 19 and then Chandler got all alone for a dunk to push the lead to 109-88 and send most of the building's occupants to the exits.

201212062218802882036-p2.jpg

Smith hit a 3-pointer with 3:04 left to play, gestured toward the Heat bench, and the benches were cleared moments later.

NOTES: Haslem started and made his first five shots, his first 10-point first half since March 2010. ... Anthony warmed up before the game, but seemed to have trouble catching passes. ... It was Miami's first home loss since Game 5 of last season's Eastern Conference finals. ... The Knicks have outscored Miami by 20 points in each of their first two meetings this season.
