Chandler would be a much- needed defensive anchor in a Knicks frontcourt with All-Stars Carmelo Anthony and Amar?e Stoudemire.

The deal, however, will eat up a large chunk of the salary-cap space that had been preserved for Paul, who can opt out next summer and become a free agent. A provision in the new collective-bargaining agreement, which was officially ratified by the players and approved by the owners Thursday, does allow players to restructure deals, so there is a chance Paul can be in play if Anthony and Stoudemire agree to help make some room.

If this is right, it appears players can restructure their deals under the new CBA! Lets see if Melo and STAT are really about winning or just in it for the big payday!

Amar'e and Melo's priority should be winning championships. If they restructure their deals to allow room for CP3 I don't think any team would be able to stop a team of CP3, Melo, Amar'e and Chandler in the NBA finals. That would be just as good as the Laker teams of the 1980's. Let's hope that these guy care about rings more than they care about making an extra million.

There's already a thread on this one.

After last year's events, do we really think there's any real chance of our stars restructuring their contracts enough to let Paul waltz in? It would have to take a very embarrassing loss to one of the top 3 east teams to get them to even dabble in the realms of considering it. Considering, of course, that with our current team that isn't us already.

Still, good news!
