The long debated trade between the Phoenix Suns and the New York Knicks has finally came to an end, Isiah Thomas trading PF/C
Kurt Thomas in exchange for
Quentin Richardson and a draft pick which was proved several days ago to be PG
Nate Robinson, the 21st pick.
The Knicks have now strenghten the Point Guard position, Stephon Marbury - the starting PG - having now a backup in rookie Robby. The addition of a new SG (Quentin Richardson) may be a little strange, New York already having 2 other players on the same position, Jamal Crawford and Allan Houston the last one missing almost the whole 2004-05 season because of an arthritis in his left knee.
However, Quentin is reported to be a sizzling shooter, just like NY's new PG is, and this could only make us happy. In his 2004/05 season he averaged for Phoenix 14.9 ppg and 4.9 rpg.
On the other hand, Kurt Thomas has been great for the Knicks, being probably Knicks' best player last season, averaging 11.5 ppg and 7.6 rpg in 80 games played.
Richardson will be wearing the same number that Marcus Camby once used, when he led NY to the finals 6 years ago - #23.
