The success of the New York Knicks will heavily rely upon three players, Eddy Curry, Channing Frye and Jared Jeffries. We have yet to see the full potential of these three players, yet Curry has been referred to as the corner stone of the franchise on several occasions. Frye had a great rookie season and a not so good second season and Jeffries was brought in specifically to fill the Knicks defensive void.
The Knicks plan was to establish a three man 6'11 front court and supporting cast for Curry and Marbury and they have done that with Frye and Jeffries. If these men reach their potential and establish them selves as a defensive force the Knicks can have a successful season.
The internet is buzzing with trade rumors now that Kobe nutjob Bryant has demanded a trade on the radio then voted for the plan after he voted against it... Wait a minute! Sorry that's another guy. At any rate, Kobe is making up his mind about his future with the Lakers and Minnisota is now entertaining trading the untradable Kevin Garnett. In reality getting Garnett or Bryant is more than a long shot and if it did happen it would rip this team apart.
The favorites of Knick fans are also favorites of other GM's around the league and shorly our young core would be gone in a trade for a super star. The Knicks only real course of action is to stay the course. Give Frye and Jeffries another year. As wide open as the east currently is a treo of 6'11 forwards can make a name for the selves. Every one is expecting Curry to score in the post and Marbury to make flashy passes but no one expects much from Frye or Jeffries. For these reasons Fry eand Jeffries are our wild cards.
