The New York Knicks have silently put themselves in position to compete in a couple of years. Donnie Walsh is building a team that will bless Madison Square Garden with more than 20 victories a season in a couple of years.

Do you release Stephon Marbury or make a trade with his expiring $20 million contract? I am not going to pretend to understand all the rules that would torpedo this possibility, but the question is an important one because it decides of the New York Knicks are rebuilding or not.

How should we turn this franchise around? After seeing another season lost. What should the Knicks focus be? Well your guess is as good as mine. The problem starts with our roster being clogged with a core of Marbury, Crawford, Curry and Randolph, all players that take up to much of our cap room, causing us to have no flexibility with trades and signings. While I can see no reasonable way to cure this problem for next year, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We have to look at the situation and consider the fact that we are probably in for another year like this one if our situation is ever going to turn around. I have a few options I’ve been considering. Marbury, should he stay or go? What to do with Curry and Randolph mess, general coaching and GM issues.
