Just five days ago, the Knicks looked headed for a fullblown crisis after the pitiful Bobcats threw a 118-point Garden party and former Phoenix stud Boris Diaw became coach Mike D’Antoni’s and Amar’e Stoudemire’s worst nightmare.
And now they’re baaack!
The Knicks aren’t taking the Bobcats lightly this time.
“We owe them one,’’ Knicks rookie point guard Iman Shumpert said. “We’re going to play hard.’’
The players believe that Knicks team from last week no longer exists, even as they battle new injuries to Carmelo Anthony and Toney Douglas.
The Knicks get to measure the steps made on their 2-0 road trip during which they held each opponent — the winless Wizards and downtrodden Pistons — below 100 points.
