Mike D’Antoni had a chance to end a controversy before it began when Baron Davis made his Knicks debut last night at the Garden against the Nets.
But, when the Knicks coach was asked whether he had talked to Davis about understanding his redefined role within the Linsanity surrounding the team, D’Antoni said that might not be the case.
“We haven’t had that conversation, but he sees what’s happening, too,” D’Antoni said before his team’s 100-92 loss. “Maybe he’ll see that as a goal and maybe he tries to play better than [Lin has]. That’d be great.
