Mike D'Antoni's free-flowing offense went haywire last night as the Knicks set franchise records for most three-pointers attempted and worst shot selection.
Yes, you simply can't have one without the other. The Knicks, 98-89 losers to the Bulls, took an astonishing 47 threes, two shy of the NBA record. They took just 39 shots inside the arc and lived by the philosophy that even if you keep missing - and they certainly bricked plenty - by all means keep firing away.
"Yes, that is a lot for us," D'Antoni said after the Knicks fell to 8-17 entering tonight's home game against the Clippers. "In the first half, we took 29. It just happens sometimes that way. Some were good and some were just jacked up. They went in early for us and that's how we got into taking them."
