Lawrence: It`s Time For Isiah To Go

If this had happened against Boston`s Big Three of Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish, if it had happened against a bona fide championship team that has three locks to make the Hall of Fame and is favored to win the NBA title, then, well, it would be understandable. Sometimes you just get your head handed to you and you move on.

But this isn`t 1986. We`re 21 years past that grand era around here, and the Celtics` new Big Three of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have been together for a grand total of 14 games, a mere sixth of the NBA season. They`re still finding out what it`s like to play together. They haven`t even been together for a month. They`re still getting to know each other.

And yet, the Knicks took the kind of beating last night that you would expect an expansion team to take from a veteran club that has been through the playoff wars, hung a few banners and takes no prisoners.

Worse, in their 104-59 debacle, their most lopsided loss to their hated Atlantic Division rivals, the Knicks showed no heart, no fight, no nothing. (...)
