What A Difference A Day Makes, Huh?

The heart exists and it still beats. True, it took defibrillation from Jamal Crawford and Fred Jones to shock it back to life just as it seemed to go flatline, but Isiah Thomas now calls the prognosis good.

After watching his team come back from a 17-point third-quarter deficit for a 91-88 win over the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night at the Garden, Thomas sees three wins in the past four games. He`s ignoring Thursday night`s 45-point blemish in Boston. He`s overlooking the fact that nights like that are just as possible as night`s like Friday, when the Knicks suddenly became energized enough to overcome their own troubles.

He certainly doesn`t want to consider what would have happened if the Bucks had been able to hold on to a 71-54 lead, when the Garden crowd loudly sang the "Fire Isiah" refrain.

"Every time you lose a game in New York, you`re on death row here," he said. "So tonight they unstrapped the belts and I get to walk. Had we lost, I`m sure they`d have wet me down." (...)
