In a development that can only make sense at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks closed out their best seven-day stretch of the season last night. They will understand if no one applauds the achievement — or even remembers it.
The week will forever be known for Thursday’s humiliating 45-point loss in Boston, a game that underscored the Knicks’ dysfunction and scrambled the record books. But last night, they wiped out a 17-point deficit, showed some creativity and grit and pulled out a 91-88 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks.
So an evening that began with boos and derisive chants ended with the Knicks’ third victory in four games — which stands, oddly enough, as their best four-game stretch this season. (...)
