At least James Dolan finally knows when to throw in the towel on a loser case. Even as he does, he says it's a travesty. Dolan should be as aware about his loser basketball coach, his travesty of a basketball team.
Isiah Thomas sure tried to sell him a losing case against Anucha Browne Sanders, who got harassed at Dolan's Garden and then got fired for her trouble. Thomas tried to sell Dolan a version of things that is as false and phony as his version of the Knicks. Thomas told his owner to trust him and he trusted him all the way downtown to the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Building, where Browne Sanders and her lawyers kicked Thomas around a courtroom the way he gets kicked around the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.
Now it is announced that Dolan has settled with Anucha Browne Sanders, who was awarded $11.6 million in punitive damages and was going to find out about compensatory damages when she returned to Judge Gerard Lynch's courtroom on Thursday. Dolan once said he was looking forward to his day in Lynch's courtroom and he sure got it and you saw what happened, the most shameful verdict in the history of Madison Square Garden. Now he says the commissioner of the league made him do it. If Dolan was interested in the good of the league he'd get out of it. (...)
