Zach Randolph admitted Friday that he has questioned Isiah Thomas' decision to acquire him from Portland over the summer.
"Sometimes it comes to my mind," the Knicks forward said before the NBA announced that Randolph had been suspended for last night's game against Spurs for throwing his headband at a referee on Wednesday. "But you know, I'm here and I just look at it like I have to make the best of my situation. I can't do nothing about it now except work and try to make things better."
Randolph added that the "atmosphere" around the team has been bad, starting with the Anucha Browne Sanders sexual harassment trial and including the Knicks being booed on a nightly basis at the Garden. "Since I've been here it's real negative," he said. "There's a lot of stuff going on with the team. Isiah brought me here and he had a reason for bringing here and I'm glad to be here. But it's difficult."
Randolph, 26, was speaking for the first time since being ejected in the third quarter of the Knicks' 107-97 loss to Sacramento on Wednesday night. Although Randolph claims he is happy in New York and that he is eager to help the Knicks win, the veteran power forward is frustrated that he and Eddy Curry have been unable to successfully coexist.
