New practice drill

D'Antoni added a new drill at today's practice.

It consists of players learning how to whip passes as hard as possible at each other's ankles.

Tony Douglas led the drill since he is the acknowledged master of the technique.

Baron Davis update

Baron Davis is not yet ready to play based upon practice sessions so far.

He is getting better at guarding Tyson Chandler, Amare Stoudamire, and Jerome Jordan in the post, but so far is completely unable to pass the ball consistently near teammates' ankles coming out of a 360-degree spin in the air.

Until he can consistently deliver the ball to teammates' ankles in stride coming out of the spin move, D'Antoni is saying that he will not be medically cleared to play.

"We just do not want to rush him back in until he is ready to compete properly using Mike's patented system", Knick's assistant Dan D'Antoni explained.

Davis added that he is also having trouble remembering what play to run on "Go go, go" and what play is "Go, go go".
