In two separate deals: Knicks trade forward Vin Baker, guard Moochie Norris and a 2006 second-round draft pick to Houston for forward Maurice Taylor. Also, trade center Nazr Mohammed and guard Jamison Brewer to San Antonio for forward Malik Rose and conditional first-round draft picks in 2005 (David Lee) and 2006 (Mardy Collins).

Not sure how many of us are left to try to stomach this stretch against tougher teams after having collapse after collapse against poor teams. We're now down MWP and Beno without any able bodies to replace them on the bench yet, so this gives Woodson even more of an excuse to stick with his time-tested, piss-poor rotation strategies that ensure no gas in the tank when the 4th quarter comes around. Tough to watch a team, regardless of record, that you know at best is going to limp to the finish in crunch time.

Amare starting tonight for the first time since April 2012. About time he gets a chance back in the starting lineup. Hopefully, he also gets a chance to log more minutes overall. Worst case scenario he gets hurt again, who cares, best case scenario is he plays well and accumulates some increased value for the offseason.

This starting 5 has no idea how to play together, but you can tell they want to figure it out. C'mon, Woodson, please don't put JR prematurely into the game, we're only down 2.

Stat is starting but I don't think it's going to make a difference. We match up better size wise with him in there but he's going to have to bring it on both ends against Dirk.

Woodson not listening .... Stat & Pablo go out, and JR & THJ replace them .. what bout Jeremy Tyler getting 20 minutes tonight

Well, that wasn't a very good 1st quarter at all.

It's not pretty, but I got to say that JR is busting his ass to try to setup his teammates. I just wish we had some kind of strategy to make the process seem a little less random in its results. If only we had a coach who could draw up even basic plays.

This team is hopeless. Dallas wide open looks, getting anything they want and how many turnovers already? This is going to be a rout.

The Mavs (HC Rick Carlylse) have 12 players playing on the same page .. Dalembert got a long career winning record vs the Knicks.
Funny how we beat the Mavs the last time letting Beno/Murry/Shump win the game while JR concentrated on untying Marion

How are we only down 5 with how terrible we are playing? NBA should launch a point shaving investigation of Dallas if this continues.

Dallas been playing small-ball in the 2nd qtr. Dirk@center & Marion@PF

Dallas can't be happy that it took a buzzer beating 3 to put them up by 1 at the half. They probably know that we will fall apart in the 4th, no matter what we do, thanks to our crap rotations, but still, they have to feel ashamed of themselves.

Melo again carrying us, 28 points barely halfway through the 3rd quarter. Good thing he has infinite endurance and won't be the least bit tired in the 4th quarter with the game on the line.

htr10
Feb 24, 2014, 20:27
Melo has played 33 minutes through 3 quarters. Nice job, Woodson, no really. I bet we totally won't fall apart in the 4th quarter for the 20th consecutive time. Melo with 36 points in 3 quarters, he continues to carry this sorry team, but you just can't play one guy into the ground like this.

Centuries from now, sports historians will look back at this stretch of basketball we have been playing and realize that we have drawn up the blueprint for how to lose basketball games. This game tonight, what an effort to tie it up and then possibly the worst play of all-time on our final possession, followed by Dallas playing the same iso ball, but getting the unbelievably lucky bounce, to put the nail in our coffin. You can't make this stuff up, but it just keeps happening.

As long as we make this count next year when the recipe of tanking has the chance to produce the highest reward, then no biggie I guess. We won't need to do any game preparation for the other team. Simply show next year's team all of our losses and duplicate them to precision.

Lord why do we even watch? Its the same thing over and over and over. I am so sick of watching a team that doesn't know how to play team ball and never plays defense EVER.The knicks are a joke and they will stay that way until they do MAJOR changes.I have had enough of iso melo and I am sick of it!! Everygame its iso melo all game and you all can't tell me that you aren't sick of it also.It doesn't work people look at our record and look what we have done since he got here. NOTHING!!! He scores lots of points every game but is a no show in the forth. You can bring up the minutes all you want but he is a so called star player and those guys should be able to play every second of the game.Again tonight scored a lot of points but in the forth he disappeared until the last two plays of the game. The iso melo showed up again when he just stood there dribbling the clock out like he knew what he was doing leading to a shot clock violation. Then gave up the game winner guarding Dirk!! This team sucks and if they sign melo to a long term contract then the Knicks are toast and won't do nothing as long as Dolan and Melo is here.Rant over!

worst last possession ever. whose fault is that? Woody, Melo or JR? gotta go with Woody #1 for not calling a play, #2 to Melo for passing the ball to low bball iq JR, who once again loses track of game clock. Clyde Frazier was convinced Melo would take the shot, and even said it's up to Melo to win or lose the game as seconds ticked away. shocking ending, fantastic comeback tainted by crappy last play and horrid luck/Dirkbounce.

no wonder Feltip pulled a gun on his girlfriend. dude's frustrated.

Blame Woody also. He said he called the play beforehand which is why he didn't call a timeout to draw up a play. Melo is the Knicks best player but I don't know about going to him for every game winning shot because Melo just hasnt been clutch. JR only got the ball because Melo couldn't get off the shot.

I saw the last play Melo got triple teamed and passed out of it JR doesn't get the shot off...the Knicks don't have a plethora of scoring options as no other Knick had over 15 points while Dallas three scorers over 20 with none if them named Dirk. That's the difference we lose by 30 without Melo's effort get real people on chief

Why do you keep on going like an energizer bunny telling these Esop Fables, these Paul Bunyan Tall Tales?

NO!...this team did just fine without Melo against the Mavs when we put out this juggernaut of a roster/lineup

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=320219018

- We didn't need any player to drop 40 to stay in the game

- We didn't need any player to shoot nearly 30FGA in the game

- We didn't need any Max Cat or Super Max or Kobe Max, or Melo Max player in the game

- We didn't need any Mismatch Nightmare

- We didn't need a Top 5 Mythical Player

- We didn't need a Mythical Best Pure Scorer

- We didn't need some Dream Weaver Epic Fail when the game is on the line for a final shot and you need "Dat Go To Scorer"

We simply needed a TEAM that played TEAM basketball with balanced scoring and respectable defense....

Typical Melo....he's either stepping out of bounds, throwin up chunky bricks, passing the rock to the wrong man suicide style, going right head down losing the ball.

In other words you just got TAKEOVER'D by my last visual post showing Victory in Melo's absence.

For the record I thought Lin was overrated(nice try) but not so overrated you let the guy walk for nothing, especially at our greatest position of need. Nice to know that RayGun is better than him though.

Melo's going to be watching "that ridiculous contract" play in the post-season from his couch of depression this spring while you sit on his lap

Dirk's ISO no matter where he ISO's is indefensible. I already showed the visual of him doing that before against the Bucks almost exact same bounce game closing shot.

Here's the bigger point.....for all what Melo has failed at in his career and believe you me he's failed epically on a grand scale the 1 thing his Midnight Star "SECRET LOVERS" pulled out of their smooch basket was....

I think all of us seen the last play .. ISO-Melo holding the ball for 19 seconds then pass the ball like it was a hot-potato to his 8-year teammate JRsmith with a couple second on the shot clock.
That's how sports analyst on NBATV explain the Knicks 36th loss of the season.
Mavs HC Carlylse design a 9 second play for Dirk to take the final shot of the game, Dirk got the bounce to win the game.
