Game Thread - New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks - April 13, 2015

Despite the fact that we are in Atlanta and they are only sitting one starter, we are actually up 61 - 44 late in the 2nd quarter. Are we really going to win another one and just give Minny the worst record? Seems kind of counter-intuitive after essentially having the worst record almost locked up last week.

Winning 62 - 49 at the half. Tied for most points by us in a first half all season. If we end up with the 5th pick in the draft, I can live with it, but a lot of people are going to look back at these last couple games and possibly be very pissed off.

They're playing out of their minds and ATL is playing all their guys minus Milsap. I'll be pissed if they wind up picking 5th after going 79 games with the worst record and then having to pick 5th.

The problem in picking 5th is you wind up picking WCS for need instead of Winslow who is the better player but plays the same position as Melo. Just going to have to see where we pick but it would have been comforting to know that you would pick no worse than 4th.

ATL coming back as you would expect, tied now. Galloway just hit a 3 to put the boys back up, he's having a hell of a night.

I wonder how many fans want Galloway traded like right now. Dude is having the game of his life. He's like 6-6 from 3s going for a Knick record

Galloway needs to learn to shoot a little floater or tear drop when he gets to the rim. That's one of the only things this kid us missing, he's one of the bright spots this season, he's a combo guard and not a true PG but I would play him over JC 10 times out of 10.

Kyle Korver and the Eastern Conf Leading 60+ win Hawks just lost to the last place Knicks.

Lol.

*Looks forward to the "they didn't even need this game" nonsense. The minutes proved they tried and failed.

But they'll go far in the playoffs.

Well the Wolves look like they'll sew up the worst record and the Knicks can tie the 76ers with 18 wins if they win against the Pistons which
means they could fall to picking 6th. I appreciate the effort but it was ass backwards to win these last couple of games.

This is the Knicks we are talking about.... They consistently deliver worst case scenarios year after year... Decade upon decades now... We'll end up sixth, as OKC will probably land a lottery miracle and jump us.

last place team has won the number one pick twice in its 19 year history (current format). Either that means they are due... Or it doesn't matter really. Even if we land that pick, we probably draft the Oden over a Durant anyway

Mafra, I think you're right "Curse of the Knicks". Knicks fans need to chill because as you say we could still wind up picking number one but it would have been comforting to pick no lower than 4th when 4 names are considered locks in this draft.

We beat the Spurs too, the Hawks have been playing cat and mouse for about a month now

Mind boggling that a team with less than 20 wins could beat the Spurs and the Hawks. DFish and PJ have to take a lot of positives from these 2 wins, maybe they don't break up the Knicks and bring in 7 new players.

There's nothing really to take from those wins. Galloway was already in the fold as a keeper, he plays hard and he'll probably stay on the team the whole yr next yr, guaranteeing his deal. THJR and Cole Aldrich had some good performances past couple games, there's nothing to take over into the summer from what they did. Lance and Lou are 11th and 12th man scrubs on any given competitive team, 4th-10th man on a lottery team(and that's what we are). Travis Wear played meaningful minutes against the Spurs never saw light of day for the rest of the season and Shved and Bargs were contributors that game but ghost against Hawks.

The Spurs lost to the Lakers this yr too but go take a look at their record since losing to us. They became about that life afterwards. The Hawks are coming off a public stabbing and arrest incident in which one of their players had their leg broken by the cops and like I said have been sitting then playing then sitting guys for about a month. It's called teams playing down to competition, it happens

Our execution in almost everything we did concerning this season was spot on dreadful. The only thing we got right was not re-upping Larky and finding Galloway on the cheap.

Can't count Shved yet because his situation has major cap implications, wasn't by design, and is incomplete at this point.
