Game Thread - Knicks vs Cavs - October 25, 2016

Better late than never. Tough way to start the season on the road against the defending champs, but we're holding our own so far. Hot start for Melo who has 12 points with still time left in the 1st quarter.

With 9 seconds to go in the 1st quarter, Lebron and Irving come back into the game and Lebron finds Love for a corner 3. We're down 10 after the 1st quarter. Cavs defense is smothering us and we can't keep up defensively with their ball movement. Without Melo's hot shooting to start the game, we'd already be thinking blowout.

Hernangomez scores his first pro points early in the 2nd quarter on a nice move down low after getting fed deep by Jennings. Doesn't matter much though, Lebron is slicing and dicing our 2nd unit.

The good Melo 5-7 for 11 points, the bad Melo has been the whole show on mostly iso's.

Cavs 28-18 end of the 1st.

Jennings shooting leaves a lot to be desired.

When Lebron gets a steal at half court, refs refuse to call a foul to stop the fast break. Inevitably the play is going to end with him throwing down a dunk.

Had to expect this sloppy play with Horn saying it might be a rough start and KP saying it's going to take time to develop cohesion. Practices must have been sloppy, 10 TO's middle of the 2nd this game.

Not going to lie, even though we are still losing, I'm impressed with that 2nd quarter effort from our completely not meshed squad. Lebron is a monster as always though. 12 points, 7 boards, and 7 assists at the half.

48-45 Cavs. Knicks are right there, clean up the TO's and get a bigger contribution from KP helping Melo and DRose then the Knicks can win this.

Wow that was fast, Cavs open up 21 pt lead with 4 mins left in the 3rd. I'm not sure how KP wound up defending Kyrie on 2 consecutive plays.
