View Full Version : [Newsday] Frye Sprains Knee, May Be Shut Down

X-rays were negative, but the forward did not accompany the team to Orlando for tonight's game. Frye will undergo an MRI today.
While the early signs were encouraging, with 16 games left, the Knicks have no reason to rush back their prized rookie. "I feel good," Frye said. "It could have been a lot worse. I'll be OK."

Frye was standing under the Knicks' basket like a cornerback waiting for a running back as Barrett steamed toward him on a fast break with 9:36 left in the fourth. Nate Robinson, chasing Barrett, made contact with him just before Barrett got to Frye.

Frye will be on crutches for three weeks but will not need surgery
He will sit the remainder of the season and the Knicks expect him to be back for Summer League play.
