Gallinari To Undergo Season Ending Surgery

Tue, Nov 18 F Danilo Gallinari headed up the coast with the Knicks, but he wasn't ready to play. The injured rookie came along to visit another back specialist in Boston. The latest opinion was no different than any if the others. There is a possibility the rookie will need season-ending surgery.

sad to see him out, but a healthier gallo next year is better than a hurting gallo this year. Tough break for him is right, but gotta do what you gotta do.

Gallinari would be eligible for rookie of the year next year if he didnt play those pointless two minutes in one game!

I think he still is. I think the rule is like 20 games or something. I could very well be wrong though. Is this official, or is it just a rumor?

too early to judge Gallo lets see him play a full game first then make that desicion...and didnt he only need to rest for like 2 months?

Gallinari and Surgery

It was my understanding that the Boston specialist agreed with the other doctors that had recently examined Gallinari and concluded that he did not require surgery. The boston doctor did, however, suggest a full two month period of rest rather than one for 4 to 6 weeks.

Have I missed something?

Look on Yahoo Sports there is nothing from 11/18 stating that he needs surgery... A report on the 14th of November is there that mentioned exactly what the original poster did... I think he's playing w your emotions

This is NOT NEW NEWS. The Gallinari status remains the same. 6-8 weeks rest.

Yeah that's fair since he has played only one summer league game and only 2 minutes in a regular season game. Let the kid prove what he is made of first, then judge.

he's proven he's a waste of a pick... he's a kid and he's having back surgery...do you understand what that is... look at Don Mattingly look at Larry Johnson... 2 players who could have been major major superstars... the reason they couldn't Back Injuries.. and this guy is only a kid.. The OP is full of crap. I looked all over the internet and have not found one report that he is having back surgery. He's still on the same timetable to come back.

This kid needs to get healthy. He has the talent and all he needs a lil experience and to GET HEALTHY. Once we slowly work him into the rotation then he will slowly emerge similar to Chandler.
