Notice a big difference?? Our current roster is much more of a Mike D'Antoni tyoe roster, It has fast, up-tempo players. Another thing, theres only 12 players (10 are used)
compared to 15 on the 07-08 roster. You have to admit, Donnie and Mike have done a great job. Even if the Knicks do not make it this year we should show them how much we care about them.

Isiah%20Thomas.jpg

last year we had him, now look at us. People are considering the Knicks for the playoffs. We won 23 games last year-23. The season before was still bad. The season before that was what 24 wins?? Thats darn near disgusting. :barf:

This is the official thank you Donnie and Mike thread; and if you don't like this thread, or think they still have not proven anything get outa here and stop rooting for the Knicks. Not anybody could turn the worst franchise in all of sports to a playoff contender.

:gony:GO KNICKS, and thanks Mike D'Antoni & Donnie Walsh

I haven't felt this confidant about this team since the Van Gundy era.Even when Isiah Thomas had that mediocre season 2 years ago I was never sold on him being GM.Walsh is a lot smarter than both Thomas and Layden combined.A lot of people criticize him for the fact that the Pacers weren't able to win a championship while he was running the show over there in Indiana but that wasn't his fault. The majority of the good teams in the NBA weren't able to win championsips at that time because Michael Jordan was the one winning them.Even when the Pacers made it to the finals back in 2000,they were going against a much better team with Kobe and Shaq.He hasn't even been president of the Knicks for a full year and he's made them a competitive team that performs well for their fans almost every night.Imagine what kind of team that this man will create in the next few years. It would be nice to see Lebron James over here in 2010 but I don't think that the Knicks desperately need LJ in order to win a championship in the next decade.By Walsh getting rid of the remaining garbage that is in the trunk in Curry and Jeffries it will be the next big step in the right direction for the future.

The Knicks are Back
huge difference in our team, im digging it,

the most thing i like isn't the cap relief or the coaching and management changes it's our youth, they have been huge. Lee is developing into a nice starter perhaps allstar, Nate is developing into a dominant 6th man, and chandler is on the verge of making an allstar team one day. Gallo could become a nice versatile piece to the team in the future coming off the bench with Nate

nice job by Walsh and D'Antoni. were close i could feel it, Walsh wont mess up with the Nate and Lee re-signings and both will be back , we draft a nice player ( projected Jennings, or DeRozan) and we get a defensive C and a superstar and we got ourselves a Championship team.

TYPE-A
Here's the Differences

Take notice:

Now we...

*Have Deadly 3pt Assassins that can hit OutSide shots
*Have a few guys that can actually DUNK!
*Play smart, fearless
*Have emerging stars like Lee, Chandler and Nasty Nate
*Rebound thanks to effort and David Dble/Dble Lee
*Put in Defensive effort
*Play with purpose and a sense of urgency
*Made trades that help on the court or impact the cap positively
*Can and actually compete night in/out
*Have A way out of Salary cap hell
*Have Hope!

Then we...

*Had 1 pure shooter in H20 in ten years, the rest couldn't consistently hit jumpers
*Would be Right Under the basket but couldn't finish
*Would watch everyone else get rebounds and easy putbacks
*Perfected the Matador defense, we played like it was 4 on 5
*Turned the ball over like it had the "cooties"
*Had no purpose, gave up around Jan., Feb
*Were a laughing stock
*Needed a miracle and a crack-head GM to trade with us to help us get under the cap
*Had No Hope!

Good job Donnie and D'Antoni!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

**feel free to add anything I forgot

powerful post, Walsh and D'Antoni really changed the culture on this team, were competitive and we play as a team, the best is yet to come, were on the verge of something special, again were a couple of pieces away
