+ 20 with jefferies on the floor

DO we really want to trade this guy, contractually he is not the problem eddy curry carries more weight than he does. I honestly believe his ability on defense, if you notice the + / - statistics is more in the positive than any other starter besides gallinari. I feel as if he could play on any team in the league and probably post 20 minutes a game just based on versatility and defense, he can guard any position , and has learned not to over do it on the offensive end which does not cause him to look as if he is a liability any more

to make a long story short

is the knicks losing over the past 3 years, the only reason why we hate on JJ, because I feel if we were a winning team, we would look at him and love him for his effort on defense night in and night out.

I have been impressed with Jeffries all season. Even at the start of the season when we couldn`t buy a win he was defending well.

I like his attitude and yes, you`re right. He doesn`t overdo it on offence. He seems to have learned that he is a good defender and not a good shooter so he sticks to what he`s good at now.

I'll admit that like alot of other Knick fans I have been extremely hard on JJ, But his Defense this year and just his overall presence on the court this year has been exceptional... A playoff bound team is going to want JJ... I cannot see him staying in NY...

I like his defense, but his lack of offense is pretty disturbing.

That being said I can't be all that upset about him. He's trying hard and he defends well, that's more than can be said about most of our team.

I didn't know people give credit to dudes who average 4 points and 3 rebounds.

He's the invisible man..totally useless and the 2nd worst contract we have. He's one of Isiah's goons...how can you have any love for this man?

I cannot be happy with the Knicks until Lee, Robinson, Jefferies, Curry are gone...basically everything Isiah touched.

Yeah there's no way in hell Jeffries was worth the full-level MLE.

He's not a bad defender, but that's all that has to be said about him. He's not a good player, and I agree with the bi-annual exception being all that he's worth. He's a defender you put in when you need to hold a lead, not a starter.

But there are players on this team that I'm way more upset with than Jared Jeffries (like Chris Duhon for example...)

This is why Walsh is hot and heavy for TT (JJ times 10).

JJ had 4 turnovers and took 1 shot today against the Nets. He's shooting 50% from the free throw line. He has stone hands. Basically, the defense doesn't even cover him.

I realize he works hard, he tries, but effort doesn't equal talent. Marcus Landry could probably do what he does and do it for 700K next year.

The only reason JJ is playing (and starting) is b/c they desperately want to trade him. No need to pay a role player like that 6-7 million in 2010.

jeffirs is not a bad basketball player to have, but his contract is not a good thing for us.that kinda money is the kinda money the lakers or celtics, championship caliber teams that need those specialists, specifically for the playoffs pay.this guy will end up a laker.it is written.it is obvious that that's where he is going.

at least I'm hoping.

Next season, keep waiting
You can make the argument that Jeffries is overpaid. In this shoot first offense I don't see how Jeffries fits in. In a system that emphasized defense, Jeffries and Chandler would likely be more of an asset. Trade them both and watch the team that gets them immediately improve.

Curry is completely untradable. The only way you're getting this guy out is by trading Gallinari with him.

What's up with this trade Lee shit? You don't like rebounders? As much as I like Harrington, Lee has proven to be the most consistent player on the team as of yet. Gortat/Lee at center and power forward will create a low post presence and make it harder for teams to walk over us in the paint.

Why not get Nasir Muhammad back?

Big guys in the NBA that are not shooters/scores have to be big!

Jefferies has been in the league for years now and has no muscle.

He is always taken shots off balanced, flipping the ball at the basket, and doesn't have a strong base.

He obviously isn't a hard worker because his jump shot form is horrible and he doesn't treat the off-season as a time to physically improve his body.

He he was stronger he could defend on the interior and not have so much wasted motion in his shot/rebouding.

dude i wouldnt really say that he doesnt take the time during the off season, he is actually one of the hardest workers in the NBA during the offseason, google his work out routine, he just a thin bastard, there is nothing you can do about that. Some players just cant put on weight, but in all honesty I think his offense has improved, he finishes better at the basket, his passing has improved, and his form has gotten better, which he proved during the pre-season, he just doesnt shoot threes unless he has to, so there is no time to get comfortable. I am not defending him as if he is an amazing player, I just feel that the only reason people hate him, is because he plays for the knicks and they suck.

jeffries has intangibles...thats it. You really think he should be getting 20+ minutes per game on any team!

Last year and this year all he has brought has been horrible offense, dumb plays, and poor post abilities. Also his salary is 6 million a year and goes past 2010....this guy HAS to be traded.

Jeffries also takes away minutes from Jordan Hill, while Hill is better in every category.

The most any coach should give Jeffries is a bench players minutes. Jeffries can be impressive for a couple games in a row, then he will be the common Jeffries and be that guy that you want to trade right away and never see again.

We have Darko and Hill who are better PF/C than Jeffries.

Maybe he'll opt out at season's end and get a longer contract from another team. I guess we'll see where the league is at in January and a team trying to make a playoff push might trade for him. I don't see how we will move any bad contract unless we give up a strong asset like Gallo, Lee, or Chandler.

Right now it is what it is, an overpaid back up who is our starting PF/center.
