I was wondering, since salary has to scale we can't make severely backloaded contracts and still get Lee and a max. But what happens if you sign someone to a 1 year deal and then extend the contract? Can you offer whatever you want on an extension regardless of cap room?
If u are indicating.... the Knicks signing two FA's this summer then resign their own FA's above the cap....yes, but the limit is only $13M above the salary-cap.
The Knicks can go as high above the salary-cap as they want if they only resign their own FA's
