Okay let's break it down. The ESPN hype machine has been repping one teams players over anothers.
Let's do the anonymous player test. Based soley on 2009-2010 with respective team. Per 36 Minutes
Player A:
20.3 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 5.9 APG, 0.7 SPG, .3 BLG
Player B:
16.0 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.0 SPG, .8 BPG
Player C:
15.6 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.1 SPG, .1 BPG
Player D:
15.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 2.1 APG, .7 SPG, .8 BPG
Player E:
12.8 PPG, 13.2 RPG, 2.5 APG, 0.6 SPG, 1.9 BPG
Players A is Derrick Rose. He is the best player out of this group and there is no point of arguing against it.
Player B is Danilo Gallinari. He has not even been mentioned by ESPN at all. We all saw Danilo develop from a soley 2 point shooter, to a guy who is willing to drive the ball and force fouls with his 6'11 height.
Player C is Bill Walker. His numbers are only from his tenure with the Knicks. I know it is a small sample size, but if he can hit those threes and dunk like a slam dunk champ, he would be a nice fit for LBJ.
Player D is Wilson Chandler. I was a little surprised by his numbers. He has been improving ever since he joined the league. He offers us flexibility at the 2 and 3. He is another good, yet movable piece for the Knicks. I am hoping the T-Wolves get the number 1 pick this year, so they could trade either Rubio or Flynn.
Player E is Noah. He has been hyped so much by ESPN. You would think the guy is averaging 20 PPG. Sure he does offer something the Knicks don't have in defense, but that's about it. The Knicks probably can't replicate his defensive performance with either Lee or Bosh, but the Knicks could draft a defensive specialist in the draft.
All love for players A and E and no love from B,C, and D.
Don't forget too, that Toney Douglas is averaging 15.9 PPG in 36 minutes.
